Every week, one or two stand out as particularly unique or fun, and we decided that they deserve their own monthly post. Everything hosted on the site will be lady-friendly, so visitors need not worry about finding the standard Boys Club content that makes many entertainment sites unappealing to so many of us.

Donald McCarthy had never been to France, although this definitely wasn’t what he’d hoped for in a first visit. Is it just us or is everyone desperate for Gentlemint to be the Pinterest for men? Tech websites everywhere are falling over themselves to push Gentlemint onto the Pinterest bandwagon – it is, after all a social bookmarking tool for men to save cool, interesting pictures and articles from around the web. But is Gentlemint really just a more manly Pinterest clone?

So readers, this is our game of the week, Farm of Dreams: an over-grandly titled farm game / fun, little puzzle game.

This is Socialcam – app of the week – and probably something you’ve already been spammed by (oops…) accidentally noticed popping up all over your Facebook newsfeed. It’s a startup app that appears to have achieved the unachievable: dominate the newsfeeds of over half of Facebook’s users, simply by posting that you just watched a video every time you watch one through their app or website… Which has led to some hilarious/embarassing results… “Johnny just watched ‘Hot girl flashes boobs’ on Socialcam” anyone?

Well moms, it’s nearly that time of year again, your special day is fast approaching… but we do wonder whether your precious loved ones have remembered this little bit of news… Maybe it’s time to ‘gently’ remind them 😉

Picle – Sometimes, a simple picture just isn’t enough. That’s the thinking that inspired young, bearded Brit Alex Harding to create a free iPhone app that allows you to create ‘sound images’: an Instagram-style picture accompanied by a short sound clip recorded at the time you take the photo. The question we ask is whether adding sound to images really can enhance storytelling?
