Bad Lip Reading – Honestly there isn’t much for me to say here except, for goodness sake, if you’re interested at all in the current Republican candidate race, watch some of the videos on this oh so clever Tumblr blog!

I personally recommend watching the soundbites of Ron Paul, Rick Perry & Mitt Romney for the politicos; and if you want to see Michael Buble taking an, erm, interesting new musical direction, there’s a great video on there for you too… I’m confident you’ll like this 🙂

This may actually be the nicest place on the internet! I don’t want to give too much away about it… All I’ll say is that first, you need the sound on (or headphones in if you’re having a break at work); and second, make sure your internet is quick enough to play short Youtube videos.

I’ve just spent five minutes on it, and I think I may have stumbled upon one of the most sincerely sweet websites I’ve seen in a long, long time. DonorsChoose.org is an innovative online nonprofit that makes it easy to help fund great learning projects for kids in some of the US’s poorest public schools. It’s a great system, allowing you to make a specific donation according to what projects teachers are asking for on the site (which also means it can be as big or as small a donation as you would like to make). And with causes being sorted into locations, subjects, resources and categories such as ‘Most Urgent’, ‘Lowest Cost, and ‘Highest Poverty’, the donating process couldn’t be easier.

The projects being funded by guys ‘n’ gals like you or me range from touchscreen learning on tablet PCs, to essential textbooks, to transportation for a school dance team to a live performance. Literally anything. And each request is a very personal one by a teacher or his or her students. So that means that if you’re teaching in a public school and you would really love to improve your kids’ education, you gotta get your cause onto this site!

Find video that interests you, and you alone!

Frequency – There’s just so much interesting video content floating around the internet on any given moment, on any given day. And that means it’s really easy to miss a heck of a lot of good stuff! Stuff that gets posted on Facebook or Twitter by your friends or people you follow; stuff that gets posted on news websites (of which there are far too many to browse through in one go…); or just random, funny videos that get posted by random, funny people on Youtube.

And that’s where Frequency comes to the rescue.

Rately – Online shopping. In so many ways the best thing to ever happen to average Joe Couch Potato. No longer did he have to waste valuable energy browsing around endless endless shops with a friend in the nearest mall looking for that perfect pair of trainers. Now he could simply switch on his laptop, get onto Amazon and buy those same trainers without ever leaving his easychair. There is however one downside to all this convenience: it’s quite lonely! And what happens when you can’t decide whether you want your Ugg Boots in camel, beige or wood brown? Your friends aren’t standing next to you in the shop, helping you make these important decisions.

Nitro Type is a free, real-time, worldwide, online racing game that helps you improve your typing. It’s pretty simple: enter a race on the site; control a car against other real people from around the World; win the race by typing the fastest: as you increase the speed of your typing, you increase the speed of your car!

It’s a novel, fun way to track your ‘words-per-minute’ rate; and you also will notice yourself improving your touch typing speed over time, as you’re forced to read the rather complicated sentences the game gives you to type out. The only downside is that it really is quite tricky at times, but then I think that may have been down to my typing skills than the game being too hard! Eater National – Tiring of Taco Bell? Applebees just too Average? Want to find somewhere new and cool to eat in your local area (US only)? Well then it’s time for you to put Eater on your menu! With dedicated pages for most of the USA’s major cities (and a National page for those that aren’t on the list), you can find great places to eat and drink, whether you want the top restaurants or somewhere to fit your budget.

It’s a really fun site to navigate around, with maps pinpointing great local eateries… and even heatmaps to take you to the hottest trending locales! There’s a wide selection of posts to browse through, including “Best Business Lunches”, “Best Late Night Specials” and even “Best Drunk Food” (!), although some cities’ posts are more extensive than others. In general there’s more than enough to get along with however, so click here or on the pic to pick out your next evening out.

Incredible Things – If you have a few spare minutes, check this entry in our Weekly Faves out. It’s a fun site, whose dedicated staff scour the depths of the web to bring you strange or unusual products (pretty much like we do at allmyfaves.com to bring you all the coolest & most unique internet content!). The products range through all the popular categories, like tech, toys and fashion; although I personally really enjoyed the “Incredible Gift Guide”, which picks out some rather interesting products for you to bring to your next dinner party instead of the usual bottle of wine or chocolates!
