Art Without A Roof helps fund causes through the sale of art & apparel.
Art Without A Roof is several things. It’s a community of artists, a charitable company and a shop for great art and clothing. The site works with individual artists, allowing them to sell their work through the online shopping platform. Each artist picks a charitable organization, helping promote and fund an important cause through the positive influence of their work. Artists receive 7% of the sale of a fused or printed artwork, while the associated charitable organization receives 10% of the sale. The site also works with young artists from the Monarch School in San Diego, giving an opportunity for homeless youth to advance their lives and careers through higher education. They also get to work with the artists in designing the products that are sold on the site.
The Monarch School is Art Without A Roof‘s “Featured Cause,” although artists can choose different charities to help fund and promote. The site also features the work of Inocente, an artist associated with the Monarch School who herself was homeless as a child. Many of Inocente’s great prints are available for sale on the site. There are posters and prints from other artists for sale in Art Without A Roof’s shop, all relatively affordable. Many of the prints hover around the $30-50 range, but it’s nice to know that at least a portion of those funds are being redirected to important social causes. There are also pocket tees and tanks available in the store, each featuring a cool design. Browsing Art Without A Roof is like walking into a cool local boutique that features the work of talented artists that might otherwise not have a platform for exposure. The artwork combined with the site’s social mission make it a worthwhile destination for your next online shopping excursion.
