Gymsurfing helps travelers find and book passes to gyms around the country, starting at just $5.
The problem with obtaining a gym membership is that it’s typically only valid at one or a limited amount of locations. If you’re a frequent traveler, it can be difficult to find a place to work out without spending time seeking out the right spot or paying a hefty fee. Gymsurfing is an iOS and Android app that solves those issues, allowing users to buy gym passes on the go. The service is currently available at 200 gyms, and users can purchase passes for as low as $5. It’s currently available in most major cities across the United States, as well as smaller cities like Allentown, Albany and Charleston.
Using Gymsurfing probably isn’t cheaper than obtaining a membership at your local gym, but it does offer a nice option for travelers or people visiting a new city. The app uses your location to scan for all the available, participating gyms in your area. Clicking on a particular gym brings up a comprehensive list of information about that location, as well as the price that a day-pass costs. Reviews, hours, addresses, and maps are available for every listed gym. It’s quick and easy to purchase a pass, then all you need to do is show up and start working out.
