Get Out – This is going to be a short post because there’s no way in hell I’m going to spell the beans on this magnificent short film. You’ll simply have to see it for yourself and believe me, it’s worth every second. Expect to be inspired, amazed and even surprised. This is a classic example of a short video gone totally viral!
Enjoy.
Get Out
Uploaded by Esma-Movie. – Full seasons and entire episodes online.
Pianolina – There’s something magical about the row of black and white keys of a piano, and whenever I watch someone play this instrument I’m struck by a great sense of inspiration and amazement. Now you can tap into that piano magic yourself, using Pianolina, the online piano player. Although the site is a bit lacking in terms of an appealing presentation and interface, its simplicity and no-nonsense service outweighs its superficial flaws. I invite you to simply jump right in and enjoy the sound of music.
Audiko – My current favorite song is Empire State of Mind by Alicia Keys. So when I decided to test Audiko’s service, choosing the song for my new ringtone was easy. I thought that creating the ringtone itself would be a bit of a hassle, but the truth is that with Audiko, it couldn’t have been simpler. The first step is uploading your song or entering a YouTube URL of your favorite video. I searched for my song on YouTube and copy & pasted the address.
The second step is defining the length and fragment of the track you wish to make as your ringtone.
The last step was uploading the ringtone to my device, and even here I had more than one option to choose from; I could download it to my computer and then upload it to my device, or I simply access m.audiko.net and download the ringtone straight to my device (here is another one I created). Needless to say, I chose the latter. This service is simply amazing, try it.
All Eyes – All Eyes is “about reporting with a camera, presenting great images and photojournalism from the St. Petersburg Times staff, photographers from around the world, and residents in the Bay area. Also, “behind the lens” stories from our photographers.” The pictures here are absolutely breathtaking. Start with the ones below, and simply enjoy the power of the camera. By the way, I am a fan – are you?
One Track Mind – Finding music blogs that offer inspiring new tracks, engaging posts on emerging artists and high quality audio is rather utopian these days. But then came One Track Mind, a divine music gift for all of us here on earth, and shuffled all the cards of music discovery online. Produced by Danny de Zayas, One Track Mind is a music blog that introduces one new song every day, and each such entry is open for discussion and rating by the user community.
Get this: each new song is available for completely legitimate download. How did Danny make this possible? He explains in the About section: “This site receives no financial or other remunerative considerations for featuring these songs or for posting the accompanying commentary. All tracks are legal, freely distributable MP3s provided by record labels and promotion firms.” In other words, One Track Mind offers a neutral, equal opportunity platform for new and non-mainstream artists. You can browse tracks by genre (electronic, indie, soul, etc.), hit the random track tab, or check out the Monthly Rewinds and Sunday Samplers, among others. I encourage you to explore all the good stuff that’s in store, including the weekly Hidden Track Podcast. My favorite post was The Depreciation Guild “My Chariot.” Enjoy.
The Coveted – The Coveted is “about style without compromise. It’s a blog where visitors from around the world visit to get the scoop on fashion, beauty trends, vintage clothing, emerging designers, and how fashion and beauty relate to personal style.” In comparison to other style blogs such as The Cut and WWD, the uniqueness of the Coveted lies in its up close and personal perspective, Jennine‘s to be exact. She updates the blog quite frequently with posts on stylish finds, and it feels just like getting apparel and fashion tips from a good friend who really knows where to get those cool posh items.
If you are into style and crave more great trendy resources, make sure to visit our visual list of some of the best style resources. If you have any suggestions, please contact us and we will consider adding them to our Style page. Below are images from Jennine’s articles I especially enjoyed. I Make My Case – Case Mate is an impressive design company that’s ‘obsessed’ (as they call it) with keeping your mobile technology safe, by offering specially engineered protective cases for smart phones, iPods, laptops, etc. The best part of the Case Mate philosophy is that they understand that design, too, is important, and not necessarily contradictory to the protection functionality of the mobile device. Think of it as a sexy (and totally affordable) armor, and see for yourself what Case Mate is all about.
Say goodbye to Apple’s sought-after but out of budget swanky cases, and hello to I Make My Case; a special store for iPhone-only cases, designed by avant-garde, inspiring artists and you! The coolest part about this store is that you custom design your case by choosing your own colors, markings, drawings and many other cool features, all on an extremely appealing, even seductive interface. Try it and see for yourself. In the meantime, see my custom design below…
Alice in Wonderland – For those of you who have yet to see Tim Burton’s take on this children’s classic or if you’ve already been to the cinema, this site is an absolute must. This magnificent promotional site for the film -by Disney.com– is a brilliantly executed platform for the marvelous Alice in Wonderland experience, Burton style. Disney really put an effort to make this one fly high, and it shows. Users are invited to explore Alice in Wonderland’s characters, see video clips, play games, even download cool freebies. In short, thumbs up for Disney and for the amazing Tim Burton of course!
Howdini – How To video sites are well established on the Web, and you’re invited to explore the major video Tutorials out there on our Education page. With this point in mind, when a new video guide came along – Howdini – I was skeptic it will be able to offer something better than its more senior counterparts online. Following an extensive Howdini test run I must admit, it’s most certainly a worthy How To player.
What’s so special about it? A couple of things. First, all the videos on this website are HD. Second, the guide-like videos were made by and in collaboration with Howdini’s experts – over 90 of them! Indeed, these guys mean business: “We’re all about bringing together the top, most respected experts in their fields to help us be the best we can be at all of the little and not-so-little challenges of our complicated lives.” In addition, each video is accompanied by a textual section of ‘instructions’ to make sure you receive all the info and not missing out on anything. The result is impressive and totally worth your time. Below are a couple of my personal favorite videos.

StereoMood – Mood-based web radio providers are beginning to catch on these days, and we’ve already featured PlaylistNow back in December, which is a great example. The concept in and of itself is groundbreaking; listening to ready-made playlists, based on a definition of one’s mood. Personally, I favor this out-of-the-box take on music consumption, especially when the added value of this technique is discovering new artists and performers I wasn’t familiar with beforehand. Well, if this approach is something you are or might be interested in, you should know there’s a new impressive player in town, literally.
StereoMood is the new emotion-based tuner in the block, and I must admit; compared to PlaylistNow it’s a real gem. What I love about StereoMood is its simplicity. Navigating through the site and the playlists is a breeze and anyone can do it. Simply search for the feeling or activity you identify with the most (the homepage is a word cloud), click on it and voila. Music will be playing automatically. Available moods or states range from Dreamy, Sexy, It’s Raining and Lost in Thought to Digital, Road Trip, Spring Cleaning and loads loads more. I found the audio quality to be absolutely amazing, and since this service is ad-free, StereoMood is by far one of the best music platforms available online today.
Naturally, one of the perks reserved for those who register to the site (registration is free) is creating your own playlists by simply clicking on the plus sign next to each track on any playlist. What else could we possibly ask for? Don’t stop StereoMood team! My favorite playlist is a divine collection of songs that fall under Groovy. What’s yours?
Time.is – Here at AllMyFaves we have taken up the mission of filtering through and visually displaying the best sites on the Web. As a result, each member of the AMF team spends at least 10 hours online per day. In many of such online sessions I’ve come across various webby clocks, and noticed that I’ve began developing a soft spot for these one-thing-only sites. This post is dedicated to reviewing the best webby clock sites I found during my extensive surfing hours over time. How come I’m a writing a review of different sites in one post instead of dedicating it to just one smashing site? When I stumbled upon Time.is, I decided I’d share with you my favorite related sites. Now I guess is the TIME for my list – here it is:
