Youtube’s AdBlitz – Watch & Vote for the Best Super Bowl Ads!

Super Bowl 46 Ads – Well it’s all over. The Giants took the big crown at the Super Bowl. But a much more important question perhaps, is which company took the crown for the best commercial!? Youtube AdBlitz allows us lucky viewers to watch our favorite ads from the game as many times as we want, and to vote on our favorites. And remember, at over $2million for a 30 second slot, this was once again a real opportunity for advertising companies to really get creative with their clients’ products.

This Honda ad brought back a lot of childhood memories (for those of you old enough to idolize Ferris Bueller!). Watch it, and then click here to get your fix of the corporate side of the Super Bowl.

Miso – A Full-Blown Social Network Based on Favorite TV Shows

Miso – We’ve already discussed the emerging trend of expanding the social realm to TV entertainment when we reviewed QVIVO and InToNow app. Miso is yet another social network player attempting to push the TV-centric social sphere envelope by offering a Foursquare-like platform with some added perks. These include checking in, following friends and their favorite shows, posting statuses, comments and links, and Miso has even thrown in a notification feature to let you know when friends have signed in.

Once you sign up via Facebook and start contributing content to the Miso network (via check-ins, statuses, posts, etc.), you’ll see you start earning posts which yield badges later on. Miso is definitely the closest TV-based social network platform to Facebook I’ve seen so far, and you will notice the evident similarities between the two from the get-go. Miso seems like a promising endeavor, and I’m curious to know where it would be in a year from now. If you love TV shows and Facebook, give Miso a try. To learn more about this cool platform see the video below.

Miso is available as a Web app, but also as a mobile app (compatible with iPhone, iPad and Android).

Weekly App: InToNow – Making TV Shows the Focus of Social Interaction

InToNow – This cool iPhone app is all about fun friendly interactions centered around your favorite TV shows. Show your friends what show you’re currently watching using InToNow’s smart instant recognition system (it will even show your friends what episode your’re watching), and see what your friends have to say. As with most social apps, InToNow also offers sharing your real-time show viewing info with friends on Twitter and Facebook. InToNow is available on iTunes’ App Store. So what are you watching now? Here’s what the app looks like on the iPhone.

YouTube Ad Blitz 2011 – The Commercials Aired During the Super Bowl XLV

YouTube Ad Blitz 2011 – Even if you’re a TV commercial hater like me, you’ll agree the ones aired during the Super Bowl game are entirely different than the ones aired throughout the year -which are boring and uninspiring in most cases. YouTube continues its annual tradition with the Ad Blitz, a showcase of all the Super Bowl game commercials for us to cherish and share.

Which TV commercial was your absolute favorite? I couldn’t decide between these three:

New Content on All My Faves – Cable TV, Lifestyle and Games

We have recently added new useful faevlines and Mini pages for you to explore on allmyfaves.com. We’re excited about these new additions and I thought I’d present these to you here. Let’s begin, shall we?

Cable TV Mini page. This is one of the most comprehensive cable TV resources you can find online. You’ll find here all the official websites of major channels, including less mainstream yet equally entertaining cable TV ones so you can satisfy all your TV entertainment needs. Get your favorite show’s schedule, see upcoming shows and movies, watch videos of interviews with the stars, independent films and trailers, and lots of more great content, conveniently located in one place. To access the Cable TV Mini page click here, or go to the Entertainment page and hit ‘TV.”

Lifestyle Faveline and Mini Page. This unique collection of lifestyle websites will make you motivated, inspired and energized, and it’s one of my personal favorites. The faveline includes a top-notch lineup of insightful websites and blogs addressing better and healthier living, great food, tips for a saner state of mind in a busy, chaotic world, style and culture, and great hacks for a soothing atmosphere at home.

You can access the Lifestyle faveline by going to Blogs and scrolling down alphabetically to “L.” Clicking the faveline’s title will prompt you the Mini Faves page where you will find many more better living resources you don’t want to miss!

Brand New Games Faveline: Flight. Airplanes, flight simulators, landing strips – we’ve got it all here in this fresh-out-of-the-box faveline and category page, especially for you! We’ve got Naval Strike, Sim Air Traffic, Helistorm 2 and many many others! Roger that.

Primetime in No Time – Yahoo Tries to Merge Primetime TV and the Web

Primetime in No Time – What seems like a commendable attempt to be a cross between Hulu, primetime TV and YouTube, Yahoo TV’s Primetime in No Time offers short recaps of TV’s best and worst moments, aired the day before when most families sat in front of the tube to watch their favorite primetime show.

If this is Yahoo’s effort to close the gap with Hulu, we’re dealing with a predestined, futile battle with the later being the obvious winner. Although the funny in-between narration on the Primetime in No Time videos is cute, it would take much more of Yahoo to offer a solid comeptition to other services currently offered online by the likes of Hulu, CastTV, and soon by Netflix as well.
