Drive & Seek – Mercedes-Benz Has Done it Again

Drive & Seek – This interactive, action packed movie is an engaging campaign advertising Mercedes-Benz’s luxurious C Coupe car. Drive & Seek screams 007: the handsome man in the tux dodging bullets and doing car chases, along with beautiful models wearing super tight clothing are apparently the winning formula for getting men all over the world psyched about the C Coupe.

Simply start the movie and play along. That’s all there is to it.

The WOW!collector blog features fascinating posts in different categories including So Nice, Very Informative, Quite Funny and Wonderfully Weird. It’s a special venue where you will be spending long moments, and probably find yourself emailing and sharing on Facebook some of the entries here. GoRankem – Music Discovery Service Based on Fans’ Taste

GoRankem – I’m always on the lookout for new music and artists, and thanks to an abundance of music discovery tools online virtually anyone can expand their music repertoire. GoRankem is yet another music discovery player offering honest artist recommendations based on the taste of artists’ fans. The active contribution of users is what propels GoRankem, and I much prefer the suggestions of true fans than being handed down the ‘check this out’ of doubtful taste makers (i.e. music sites’ founders).

To see GoRankem in action, and as my personal tribute to the recently deceased singer, here’s the artist page of Amy Winehouse who passed away last Saturday. I found some interesting similar artists thanks to GoRankem’s user rating system.

Say100 – New and Innovative Media Company Cleverly Shows Off Its Power

Say100 – What used to be VideoEgg and Six Apart is now a sexy and sought-after vertical media company, Say Media. And what a a better way to show off the modern media company’s power than by showing off its most creative customers? Say100 is “a list of influential voices in 10 content verticals, including food, entertainment, style and technology.”

Remember the awesome looking women’s online lifestyle mag xoJane we reviewed last month? Its creator Jane Pratt is one of the Style voices featured on Say100. Other fields featured on Say100 include food, parenting, business (marketing expert Seth Godin is also a customer), tech, design, travel and others. So what do the “voices” on Say100 mean, exactly? Each field’s primary professional has his or her own page with a bio paragraph and links to his or her respective website and social network venues. See Foodie expert Amanda Hesser’s page as an example.

So what’s in Say100 for you? Even if SayMedia’s mighty powers of advertising haven’t managed to impress you, at the very least you will find great sites in numerous categories. In addition, each channel includes a post feed on the right side of your screen which offers high quality updates from relevant blogs and sites. You can’t argue with great content.

Doggelganger – Matching Dogs with Potential Adopters, Based on Facial Features

Doggelganger – The Pedigree Adoption Drive in New Zealand came up with a genius project to encourage and increase dog adoptions in the Kiwi country. Together with NEC Technology, Pedigree’s Doggelganger offers a “human to canine pairing software.” What does that mean, exactly? It’s quite simple, really. All you have to do is upload a clear photo of your face (you can also take one with your webcam), make sure the Doggelganger’s face model matches your facial features and hit Begin.

Now the fun begins. The software will match your facial features with those of dogs available for adoption in New Zealand’s SPCA centers. Once a match is found, you’ll see the adorable dog’s face right next to yours. When you think about it, this creates an immediate emotional bond and an instant increase of both the dog’s exposure and the likelihood of finding these dogs a home. Pedigree should do this for the US crowd as well. Most definitely!

What do you think? They really do resemble one another, don’t they?

How to be a Retronaut – The Photo-Based Time Machine

How to be a Retronaut – Tap into captivating time capsules in a variety of subjects, thanks to this super cool blog celebrating the wonder of history in digital form. The theme diversity of Retronaut makes it a genuinely encompassing experience in diving into the past right now, in the present. Discover rare photo collections of people and places in various contexts in Retronaut’s well-designed online time-machine.

See the two images below as wonderful examples. The first is an exceptional photo series from TIME magazine in the late 1950s, showing a photo shoot of Christian Dior in Soviet Russia. The second is a chic Polaroid of Sean Young and Rutger Hauer, the cast of Blade Runner (Ridley Scot film, 1982) took while on set. When it Drops – Stay on Top of New Releases. All of Them.

When it Drops – Where do you go to find out about the newest releases? Sure, there are great movie sites and blogs giving you the right heads up, even trailers, but what about the newest game or music releases? Instead of going to different places for each, When it Drops has all of these conveniently showcased in one pretty place.

As you can see, you can browse new releases of last week, this week, expected releases of next week and those to be released in two weeks time. The concept of When it Drops is so simple, and the site’s so beautifully designed that it would be silly to go anywhere else for finding what new cool movies, DVDs, music albums and video games are out. Each movie’s entry offers a link to its trailer and to buying tickets to see it at the cinema. Music and game entries offer direct store link to Amazon.

Here’s a sneak peak of the music albums that will be released on the week of July 11:

Animals Being Dicks – Oh No, It Didn’t…

Animals Being Dicks – It turns out animals can be heartless bastards, too. This funny blog is dedicated to all those documented instances of animals being hilariously cruel to each other (don’t worry, there’s nothing fatal or bloody inside).

To give an example, here’s one cute and funny example called Wanna Go for a Dip? I’ve already seen it happen numerous times among young children at the pool:

This example was the lightest of the bunch, and you’ll come across some ‘no-it-didn’t!’ entries in Animals Being Dicks. Enjoy.

Lipton Infinite Trip – See How Far the Tea Bag Takes You

Lipton Infinite Trip – Enter the never ending, whimsical world of Lipton tea and explore a mesmerizing visual story that varies by your choice of tea. At the site’s homepage, select your Lipton of choice (from Earl Grey, Or Sri Lanka, Bombay Tchai and others), and see what happens. You will have to use your mouse’s scroll button to go forward or backward in your tea’s story.

I picked Lipton Exclusive Collection’s Bombay Tchai and this is but one image of the illustrated journey I was thrown into.

Come and join Lipton’s mind blowing experience, and make sure your volume is on. The music is just as enchanting. Although I seriously doubt Lipton’s tea is as powerful as this visual experience, this marketing card is most certainly the way to go.

TuneIn – The All-In-One Online Radio Player and Music Discovery Tool

TuneIn – Everybody has a favorite radio station. Some of us like to listen to it while driving to or from work, others enjoy tuning in while at the office. Regardless of your favorite radio station, TuneIn offers better station finding and listening, whether online or on the go.

Aside from finding you the local radio stations by your physical location (via computer IP address), TuneIn introduces you to over 50,000 stations from all over the world, based on your chosen genre and favorite artists. I’m a huge blues and Muddy Waters fan, and here’s what TuneIn found me based on my music preferences:

The sound quality TuneIn offers is superb compared to the average radio station online, and the discovery aspect of this cool site is priceless. The TuneIn mobile app is a must-have if you like listening to radio, and you can use it while you’re driving, as long as you keep your two hands on the wheel -simply set your radio station’s play when you get into your car and you’re all set for the entire drive.

The TuneIn mobile app also invites you to follow favorite DJs and find new music based on favorite songs and artists. The best part about the app however, is the cross-device station preset option which means guaranteed good listening. The app is available for the iPhone, Android, Palm, Blackberry, Samsung Bada, Windows Phone, and for these home devices: Google TV, Yahoo TV, Roku and WDTV.

Let’s Baby Dance – Evian Can Make You Baby-Young

Evian’s Let’s Baby Dance – If you haven’t seen it yet, the French mineral water company Evian has been leading a huge global campaign these past couple of years with babies as the brand’s leading stars (remember the roller-skating babies video that instantly went viral?). These past few weeks billboards and roadside posters in major cities worldwide have been decorated with images of pretty people wearing a T-shirt with a baby’s body so it looks like the model has a baby figure from the neck down . To make this campaign a true cross-platform project, the “Baby Inside” advertising concept has become viral online as well with Evian’s Let’s Baby Dance website.

Evian’s interactive and totally fun Let’s Baby Dance site invites you to take part in the global movement of working it baby style by using your computer camera. Before you begin, hit play on the homepage to see what previous users have done, and then click the “Take Part” button under the main image. You will be asked to pick your baby of choice and turn on your webcam. The ad’s signature track, a cool new version of Tom Tom Club’s Wordy Rappinghood by Uffie (remixed by DJ Mehdi), can be downloaded via iTunes Store.
