Google Advisor – The search giant is now on yet another do-gooder mission: To help us better manage information online, and this time, in the personal finance arena. Google Advisor seeks to facilitate finding financial offers from multiple providers, comparing them side by side, and applying online. You can use Google advisor to compare recent offers of mortgages, credit cards, Certificates of Deposit as well as checking and savings accounts.

Once again, we see the magic of Google in simplifying otherwise complex processes to help us make better decisions. In today’s shaky economy Google Advisor is a financial bliss you should take advantage of.

SwipeGood – The ingenious idea behind SwipeGood makes the entire process of giving a whole lot simpler. The service rounds up the purchases you make with your credit or debit card to the nearest dollar, and donates that loose change to an organization of your choice.

Once you register your credit/debit card, you don’t need to do anything else aside from simply carrying on with your regular routine. The passive giving approach -while having full access to the transactions and donations reports via SwipeGood- makes charitable donations effortless and wonderful! As a SwipeGood member, you have full control over your contributions: you can set a monthly donation limit, pause the SwipeGood process at any time, and choose between 748 different organizations to give to.

Signing up is super quick and easy, and once you add a card to the SwipeGood service, you can start helping your choice of organizations instantly. What a great idea! We loved it.

Gtrot – The best tips come from family and friends, right? Gtrot uses this underlining axiom to offer a friends-based travel tool. How do they do it? Gtrot invites you to “find Facebook friends who live in your destination, friends who will be there at the same time, and friends who have been there before.” This way, the odds of you having the best trip ever skyrocket to sure success.

Bloesem – The weird-named blog network is Irene Hoof’s sophisticated and elegant source of “ideas for design, for leisurely pursuits, for creating soul-soothing interiors, for love of the handmade, for vintage appreciation, for the art of traveling.” Relish in large doses of beauty and creativity via Bloesem, and find inspirations for the home, your kids, your next trip and many other in-between life moments.

I loved browsing through Irene’s design finds and ideas, and even though I don’t necessarily plan on making any purchases soon, there’s no harm in some hardcore window shopping. Here’s one particular post on vintage ceramics I adored and wanted to share (by Stig Lindberg):

Eat Sleep Draw – Dedicated to art from across the globe, this online art community site posts 100% original content submitted by contributors worldwide. The Tumblr venue of Eat Sleep Draw offers a variety of creative artworks in the form of illustrations, comics and more, all carefully picked by the ESD team. In addition, you can explore the community’s magazine (the official publication of Eat Sleep Draw showing artwork unpublished on the site), and ESD.tv, showing video interviews with selected artists.

Eat Sleep Draw is simplistically designed, yet manages to offer solid creative inspirations and magnificent artworks such as this one by Angelica.

Drive & Seek – This interactive, action packed movie is an engaging campaign advertising Mercedes-Benz’s luxurious C Coupe car. Drive & Seek screams 007: the handsome man in the tux dodging bullets and doing car chases, along with beautiful models wearing super tight clothing are apparently the winning formula for getting men all over the world psyched about the C Coupe.

Simply start the movie and play along. That’s all there is to it.

Rubble Trouble New York – In this fun game you are part of a demolition team responsible for destroying buildings with canons, drills and explosives. Runtastic – Here’s a powerful fitness app that offers a bundle of sweet features. Runtastic offers the GPS-via-mobile, exercise logs and stats features, but so do most fitness apps these days. Where Runtastic really shines is in its real-time cheers from Facebook friends joggers, cyclists and hikers receive while out, pushing their bodies to the fitness limit.

Added Runtastic perks include finding tracks and routes in your area, tracking your weight, and sharing your progress on Facebook and Twitter, among others. Many will also be happy to learn Runtastic offers apps that work with Garmin sport watches. Runtastic is available on the iPhone, Android, Blackberry and Windows 7. So next time you go out for a run or a ride, rethink your app usage. Runtastic is a personally rewarding app that really pays off to use.

TaskRabbit – Our hectic weeks these days don’t leave much time for those small errands we need to do, and we end up putting those off for the weekend, right? No more. TaskRabbit is a sweet community of reliable runners who willingly (and for a reasonable fee of course) run your errands, deliver supermarket purchases or whatever else you need done, for you.

TaskRabbit works by matching task posts and background-checked runners able and ready to do the task. When posting a task, the user will specify how much he or she is willing to pay for it, and commits to that sum. This way, runners know beforehand what’s the compensation, and the system will make sure the runner is paid once the task is closed (complete) by its creator. The TaskRabbit service is currently offered in Boston, NYC, Orange County CA, San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles, although more locations will be available soon including Chicago, Portland and Seattle. ListnPlay – Video-based music hubs are hardly a new thing on the Web, and ListnPlay is yet another music player trying to take a bite of that pie, offering a music & video search platform that gives central point to search online music & videos. Based almost exclusively on YouTube videos, ListnPlay will find you videos of the artist, band or song you searched for, and will also come up with other recommendations for each.

Create your own playlist, share it with friends on Facebook, Twitter and other social platforms, and do it all for free! If you’re already fed up with Blip, Grooveshark and other webradio providers, ListnPlay can be a nice alternative.

Snail Mail My Email – This unusual free service invites you to write up an email message to whomever you wish, and Snail Mail My Email will hand-write your message on an actual paper letter and send in via post office like in the good old days.

When you think about it, there’s something magical about old-school letters. These can also have greater persuasion power in say, politics, romance or family event contexts than a lifeless email message may hold. But Snail Mail My Email’s goal is different. This project seeks to practice the way people used to interact with each other in the past, using manually written messages. Snail Mail My Email will reverse technology for you, providing your message does not exceed 100 characters. Be sure to provide the recipient’s post mail address, and you can even pick one custom option to be added to your letter (a doodle, a flower petal, spray of perfume or lipstick kiss) and email your message to snailmailmyemail@gmail.com.

The Snail Mail My Email is a temporary, interactive community art project (from July 15 to August 15) made up of 134 volunteers worldwide, all cherishing the “lost art of letter writing.”
