The New 7 Wonders – The mere fact that there is a Wonders of the World list demonstrates humanity’s collective effort to cherish our legacy and history for the sake of future generations. Based on the same concept there is a wonderful website named the New 7 Wonders, with the goal of “undertaking documentation and conservation works of monuments worldwide under the motto: ‘OUR HERITAGE IS OUR FUTURE'”. Now that we’ve got the ethos down, let’s dive deeper into the actual features the New 7 Wonders offers. One of the aspects I was most impressed by was the campaign voting feature designated for ‘wonders’ other than landscapes and architecture. The website presents multiple Wonder campaigns (see the latest ones here), and asks users to vote for their top seven picks.
What sort of campaigns do they offer, you might ask yourself. Well, the New 7 Wonders invites you to take part in a most diverse collection of campaigns, such as things that should be freely available to all citizens of the world (click on the Results tab to see the top 7) and the most influential women, just to name a couple. For those of you craving to know what physical sites around the world made it to the New 7 Wonders finals, click here for some amazing locations.
