Fantasy Movie League is like fantasy sports, but for movies.
Fantasy Movie League is one of the most innovative free online games you could join. The concept is based on fantasy football, with a few tweaks in order for it to make more sense with movies. Rather than drafting players and building a roster, you choose any combination of movies that you want to feature in your Fantasy Cineplex (a virtual movie theater) each week. You’re only given 8 movies to show in the theater, so you have to choose wisely. You can, however, feature more than one of the same movie in multiple theaters if you predict it’s going to be a box office hit.
The point of the game in Fantasy Movie League is basically to guess which movies are going to make the most money over any given weekend. That sounds easier than it is, and it becomes especially difficult when there’s no clear draw opening on a particular Friday. There are multiple leagues you can join — either public or closed private groups with friends. The season progresses on a week-by-week basis, but you can join at any time. The fall season begins next week, so head to Fantasy Movie League and set up your account now. It’s a complicated fantasy game, but a nice alternative for those that don’t want to play fantasy football this year.
