SideTour is a community marketplace to book and host activities in your city.
It’s easy to be accustomed to your normal routine within your city. Even if you live in a place that’s frequented by tourists, it can be tough to break out of your typical schedule and take the time to appreciate the interesting things going on around you. SideTour was created as a way to transform residents into temporary tourists in their own towns, finding unique things to do and experiences to have in order to explore a city in a new, exciting way. The site encourages users to break out of their comfort zones in order to see and experience places in ways they’ve never considered before.
SideTour is a community-driven marketplace, so events and experiences are both created and attended by the site’s users. You can browse the site for “upcoming experiences,” which are events scheduled for a specific date and time. These are typically events with a set price point that can be attended by multiple individuals or groups. There’s also the option for private groups or companies to schedule events for the time and place that works best for both them and the host. The hosts are all hand-picked by the SideTour staff, and each offers a unique experience in their local city. Anyone with a special hobby, profession or knowledge can host events on SideTour, and there are tons of great options for those willing to seek them out. The majority of the experiences do cost money, but they’re typically affordable things to do (and they’re definitely unique, memorable experiences).
