Evening Edition is the perfect commute-sized way to catch up on the day’s news, all the big stories of the day summed up and simplified for you.
Evening Edition is published once a day, at 5 p.m. in your time zone. It is nothing like any news website you ever encountered before, unlike sites we are used to, only few topics are being addressed. The team’s idea is that in each day there are only 4-5 big stories that are worth your reading time.
These selected topics are being researched by the Evening Edition’s team and the product you receive is the editors perspective of the event, after reading about it in several news agencies and websites. What you read is what the editor understood of the event, and if you want to elaborate on the subject you have links to the sources themselves (whether its an article or a video of a public appearance…).
The Evening Edition is truly a breath of fresh air for all of us news consumers. Editor in chief, Anna Rascouët-Paz, tells us about the concept behind Evening Edition:
“We are trying to bring back to life the concept of the evening paper, which people used to read on their commute home after a long, busy day at the office. We scour the news and give you a summary of today’s most important stories in a responsive web site optimized for your telephone or your tablet. In less than 10 minutes, you’ll get an overview of what’s happening in the world, and we’ll provide you with enough context to understand why it matters.”
For the moment Evening Edition oparetes on the west coast and in England only, but they promise they plan to expand. Go on and try a new way to consume your news, I am sure you will love it!
