Nara: Recommendations for the best restaurants in your area!

Posted on Thursday, December 13th, 2012 by

Nara lets you input your favorite types of food settings, cuisines, and restaurants, and gives you recommendations for new places to try in the U.S. city of your choosing.

Available for FREE on iPhone or Android (Google play), or online at Nara.me

No more reading tons of reviews, scrolling through endless text, and annoying your friends in order to find new places to eat. Nara allows you to pick between types of locations, cuisines, and the city you’re in to find your best restaurant match. They ask you three simple questions- what are your favorite place settings, what types of cuisines do you prefer, and what do you do on your day off. After which they ask you to add two of your favorite restaurants. Upon answering, a bunch of new recommendations roll in.

Includes all major cities in the U.S.

Nara only works in the US, but has a list of many cities to choose from including San Francisco, New York, Boston, Miami, D.C., and more. Live outside of the main city? No problem! I looked up a restaurant 30 min away from San Francisco and the app still found it.

Fine tune recommendations and find loads of info on each restaurant!

The recommendations are in the form of pictures and bullet points.  With the picture, you find the 411 about the restaurant: location, address(maps), phone number, menu, even parking options, and more. You can book a table right on the app as well using OpenTable. Give the restaurants a “thumbs up” or a “thumbs down,” to educate the app and receive even more  specific information about your tastes.
