Mastered offers online education with a specific focus on design. The courses are primarily geared towards individuals that wish to work professionally in the fashion industry or design field. 
The courses range from practical design instruction such as “Master surface embellishment” to more business-oriented classes such as “Develop your illustration career.” The courses are hosted by a variety of prominent institutions from within the fashion world, and are taught by leading industry professionals. Signing up for a class also guarantees you’ll be linked with a personal coach, an extra touch which provides users with consistent feedback on their progress in a specific topic. Although they are broken down more specifically by course, the general topics offered on Mastered are Illustration, Jewellery, Millinery, Tailoring and Embellishment.
Similar to other online education sites, the courses on Mastered consist of a combination of lecture-style video content, written tutorials and other interactive resources. The site is also well-structured in order to foster a community feel, easing communication amongst students and making it worthwhile for everyone to communicate with each other and learn together. While Mastered does offer a great education in a specific field, it does have a fairly high price tag. A course like “master couture millinery skills” runs $408, while a course like “The Savile Row Jacket” costs $2674. These prices are on par with major colleges and universities, although that’s the type of quality level that Mastered hopes to achieve with their offerings. While Mastered is a bit pricey, the ability to take detailed courses that help individuals succeed in the fashion industry demonstrates a promising future for online education in specific fields (aside from the liberal arts-dominated online schools like Coursera that have achieved an early popularity).
