Madame TreSesti – Vodafone made a most clever decision when they OK-ed the Mme. TreSesti (the Vodafone 360) campaign. Enter the game via Facebook Connect of Hyves account, and see what the sensual and mysterious Madame knows about you, your relationships with your friends, special someone and family. It’s a wonderful, funny and even surprising game to play, and I salute Vodafone for the unique advertising approach. Well done.
Take Something Literally – Take Something Literally is a compilation of 25 enigmas. This game is an abstract, conceptual and original game. The rules are quite simple: take the hints literally and just think. The solution is always under your nose. By the way, if you find yourself struggling at any given stage, you may consult this walkthrough (I certainly did).

The Web offers many useful resources on personal finance, and you can see some of the best ones on our blogs page (under Frugal). So why are we featuring yet another wallet/pocket/$$ helper here? I’m glad you asked.
PocketSmith offers a wonderful budgeting aid for all income levels. It is a future-focused tool that “tells you what sticking to budget means for the future of your money. It is a crystal ball for your bank accounts.” This web-based money organizer uses an interactive calendar as the platform of your spending, projected expenditures and income. CastTV – A while ago we featured TVGorge as a Weekly Fave, but unfortunately their indexed content is no longer available. It seemed we had better get back to the free video streaming drawing board. But hey – we have CastTV! It’s a well organized video index, and it includes a plethora of sought-after TV content, from Brothers and Sisters to The Best of Megan Fox. Whatever you’re looking for, CastTV most probably has it. By the way, it seems that CastTV handled all the legal issues much better than TVGorge did, which is promising. The site’s been running for over a year now, which means they are probably doing things right.
Alice – What do you buy online? Most of us use the Web to purchase flight tickets, electronic devices, clothing, shoes, books and DVDs. What about home supplies? For some reason, buying laundry detergent and toilet paper online doesn’t seem very realistic to me, but that’s out of habit. We’re used to drive to the supermarket for those home supplies, right? But that can change, and with Alice, the transition will be a happy, seamless one.
Alice has identified the shopping for the home faux-pas, and offers a solution: a one stop place for all our home essential needs, best prices and free shipping every time! In addition, Alice “automatically finds and applies coupons for you on thousands of products. A typical user finds $100’s in annual coupon savings without any extra work or newsprint hands.” So if you usually buy books, cameras and DVDs online, now is the time to give Alice a shot. It’s a worry-free, money saving experience everyone will appreciate, and it’s a free service. Need I say more?

The Story of Bottled Water – I’m not going to share the content of this short video, but I will say this: its importance is paramount for anyone who is used to drinking bottled water. Brought to us by the creators of The Story of Stuff Project, this take on mineral water and plastic bottles by Annie Leonard will make you think twice before you purchase any more bottled water. Watch Annie as she rightly refutes the bottled water axiom of our society. This is simply a must!
PhotoDump – PhotoDump strives “to be your daily source for funny, cool, interesting, and motivational photos!” Does it accomplish this goal? I believe so. I admire the site’s concept, and PhotoDump is well-executed. I especially enjoyed the Gif ones which aren’t actually photos, but more of a short repeated video. Below is a selection of my favorite ones.
Friends of Irony – If you’re familiar with the mishap-related blogs such as Fail Blog and the like, Friends of Irony is for you. Brought to us by the Cheez Burger mega blog producer, this photo-based blog presents signs and other textual makings that induce heavy doses of irony and humor as a result of their actual context. To give an example, there’s the obvious Choose Wisely post. But for more nuanced, totally hilarious entries, I suggest browsing the blog’s archive, and casting your votes for those you liked the most. You’ll be happy you did. For submissions of your own, click here. See the photos below for my personal favorites.
Facity – This photo project is definitely worth checking out. Named after the combination of Faces + City, Facity documents, very beautifully, the diverse faces of individuals from different cities worldwide. The photos are in excellent quality, and it’s always nice to see hard evidence to the fact that we’re all very much the same, regardless of geography, race, sex, age or religious beliefs. Updated on a daily basis, Facity is a one of a kind art project. Just for kicks, see if you can figure out where this young man is from…
