Fathm – There’s quite a few apps floating around the iOS store helping you to organize your time by giving you task lists. Fathm offers something different.

For those of you who don’t know me (all of you!), my name’s Danny, and I’m a happy All My Faves employee. I’m also from Manchester, England. I actually graduated law school last year, and like the rest of the world’s population of university graduates, was staring down the barrel of a bleak year without any work!

Luckily for me, the delightful Roy and Shachar at All My Faves (yes, they are reading this…), invited me to come be a part of their ambitious project to turn the vast, confusing, inaccessible world of the internet into one visual page. One page where you can find the best websites for any category or interest. But also one page that contains hundreds of smaller, customizable homepages filled with specially selected sites made to satisfy your own specific niche interests for anything; from watching free TV online, to entrepreneurs, to the best music sites.

Well folks, happy new year. In a blaze of fireworks and e-greetings, 2012 has finally arrived. And as we stride over the finishing line of a tumultuous year for the internet, All My Faves – your one stop easy guide to the Web – has decided to look past Facebook and Twitter to find 2011’s most unique and interesting sites. We selected the 10 coolest sites in categories like music, travel and education; and then handed the job of picking the absolute best in each category down to you, allowing you to vote on your favorites. And here they are. Ladies and gents, never mind Facebook, here’s our review of the Best of the Web in 2011.

Well folks, the nominees have been announced. Amid a flurry of elbowing, scheming and shadowy wealthy donors (not really, that was an attempt at a joke), the candidates have jumped every hurdle and secured enough votes in the primaries to make it onto the Official Longlist for the 5th Annual All My Faves Site of the Year Awards.

Nestio – If you’re looking for a new apartment, this site that could be really useful to you. Acknowledging that the apartment hunting can be a real pain, especially with all the hundreds of listings over various sites, Nestio aims to help you organize your search on one handy page.

You can save your listings from any site in one click using their handy bookmarklet to view, edit, and add notes on your Nestio Apartment Hunting Homepage. It also notifies you when your listings have new & updated information or go off the market. And if you’re searching with friends or roommates, then you can use Nestio collaboratively with them. Like Instagram, but on your computer. That’s how lots of people we’ve spoken to about PicYou have described it. It’s really very simple. Upload a photo onto the site, edit it using the site’s free photo editing filters, and share instantly, on Twitter, Facebook or wherever else you like to put your snaps. Zaarly helps you buy and sell things with people who live in your local community. From what I’ve seen of it, it allows you to request services or goods from people living near you, and how much you’re willing to pay to get them. And it also allows you to advertise yourself as the goods or services provider, so you can earn some extra cash too.

It seems like a good idea, but depends on how many people in your area pick up the service. Team Treehouse – What do you want to learn today? If you were thinking, “Oh, well I really have been wondering how Web Design, Web Development and iOS works”, then this is THE site for you!

Kicksend lets you send files of any size to any friend or email. It will also download and organize your files. Sounds simple enough, and well, that’s Kicksend’s mission: to make the act of sharing and receiving files extremely simple and effortless. You’ll have to download their desktop application first, but once you’ve got past that mini milestone, the filesharing fun should begin instantly!

The big question of course is whether it can replace whatever program you already use to send files to your friends. I normally just use Skype for that kind of thing, but if you’re wanting to transfer a large amount of files, like photos, videos etc, then this might be a good solution for you.

Coffee & Power – So I was leaving the AllMyFaves Towers the other day, after a hard day’s work discovering the internet for all you lucky readers, but instead of feeling relieved that I could go home and relax, I just felt stressed! Stressed that I had a million and one small jobs to do before I could sit with my hot chocolate in front of the latest episode of Desperate Housewives. Today, however, those of you who feel the same way can rejoice:

Coffee & Power is an online marketplace where people can literally sell their small jobs – from errands/deliveries; expertise on tap; teaching and coaching; to software building – for a small amount of money to other users!
