Weirdo Toys – This unusual blog was a smashing Weekly Blog a week ago, therefore it scored a Weekly Fave spot last week. According to the site’s About page, the anonymous creator started this blog so it will serve as a site “dedicated to showcasing the quirky, neat, bizarre, sometimes forgotten and downright ugly toys that I’ve stumbled upon.”

I just love the nostalgic premise and the oddity that infuses Weirdo Toys, and it’s so unique I just keep coming back for more. See the photos of some of the obscure toys you will find on the site, along with the stories behind them.

Shit My Kids Ruined – Kids will be kids, and this is particularly true for the chaotic, draw-on-everything, spill-whatever-is-in-your-hands, phase young children are known for. Julie Haas Brophy woke up one morning to find out her little boy spilled a can of black paint all over her living room carpet. She posted photos of the mess on Facebook and she got reactions from all over. The next morning Julie decided to make an actual documentary-like blog of such mishaps in the house caused by her kids, husband and dog.

The result is Shit My Kids Ruined (or SMKR for short). Be sure to check out the shitmykidsruined.com domain in the future since the tumblr site might become obsolete sometime in the future. I admire great projects that started out as an ordeal, and Julie has turned what other mothers would consider a continual disaster into a hilarious and fun thing. Go Julie! By the way, SMKR was also a Weekly Blog on our Blogs page, and users all over flocked to her site – she scored very high on popularity. Therefore SMKR made it to the Weekly Faves lineup.

Why Do I Live Here? – Another Weekly Blog winner a couple of weeks back, Why Do I Live Here is a Cheezburger lol blog showing photos of what you’d expect from the title. Funny houses galore, this blog is all about the extreme and bizarre. See some pics I found really daunting…

You Are Not So Smart – A winning Weekly Blog on All My Faves, You Are Not So Smart, simply put, is “a blog devoted to self delusion and irrational thinking.” Each post is made up of an an introductory Misconception, a common wisdom fact that isn’t factual at all, then followed by the truth (based on empirical studies and scholarly publications). Creator David McRaney, a professional journalist, proves he is indeed in the right profession; the posts in his blog are beautifully written. Without even noticing it, I spent a long session of insightful reads here. I relished in every single one I’ve read and I appreciated the diversity of the topics covered in the blog. One interesting post I thought you should read as well is Opposites. Enjoy.

Jim Carrey – I’ve never seen an actor’s official site so filled with beauty and innovation. Instead of the usual homepage with some photos and side menu, the Jim Carrey site is everything but standard, and still contains all the info you’d like to find about one of America’s (and Canada’s) best comedians and actors of all times. Just for kicks, search for Jim’s twitter feed and enjoy the ride until you do. This truly is a digital precedent for all other actors out there, big and small.
