Threewords.me – The idea of this unique site is simple. Sign up, send your friends your threewords.me link and see how they describe you (anonymously) using just three words. I guess this is a decent way to get an honest opinion about oneself, and I’m sure many people would love to use it. However, if I were clueless or curious about how I’m perceived by my friends, I would simply ask them face to face instead of using a third party in the form of cold technology. But that’s just me.
Skinnytaste – To me, the term ‘low fat’ always meant tasteless imitation of the real thing. Healthy foods in general are often perceived as having less appeal than their calorie-rich counterparts. But that doesn’t have to be the case, as Gina Homolka, author of Skinnytaste, shows. This cooking blog features “low fat, healthy recipes using real ingredients such as butter and sugar, just less of it.” How does it measure up? See for yourself with Gina’s Summer Squash and Chive Pancakes recipe.
Each recipe has an informative breakdown of servings, Weight Watchers points, calories, fat, protein, carbs, fiber, sugar and sodium. In addition, Skinnytaste offers the Ask Gina section where users can join diet and nutrition discussions to make the most of their healthy eating experience. Food that’s good for your body and soul doesn’t necessarily have to be healthy at the expense of great taste. Gina proves you can have the best of both worlds in Skinnytaste.
WOW!collector – Here’s a nice Web spot that’s filled with enticing wonder and thought. The WOW!collector blog features fascinating posts in different categories including So Nice, Very Informative, Quite Funny and Wonderfully Weird. It’s a special venue where you will be spending long moments, and probably find yourself emailing and sharing on Facebook some of the entries here. To give you a taste of WOW!collector, here’s an interesting poster series by Viktor Hertz (the man who created Honest Logos), his own representation of various jackpot films.
Psykotube – Don’t let the rather simple looking homepage fool you. Psykotube is an entertaining experiment of watching many YouTube videos all at once (hence the psycho association). All you have to do is type in a keyword and the black page will become packed with relevant videos for you to explore. Want an example? See what happened when I typed ‘dog.’ I’ve also included a video because I just couldn’t handle all of that cuteness by myself.
Trip Your Face – This brilliant interactive campaign by Hotels.com invites users to experience the “what happens in [city] stays in [city]” for themselves in a whimsical and well-made adventure.

Pusher – This cute and highly addictive game is a great time waster. You are a little hero on a big mission: grab the yellow bricks and smash the robots. Use these bricks to protect yourself from pointy edges and other dangers. For more cool games be sure to visit our I ♥ GAMES page.
FastCustomer – Forget about those long minutes on the phone, waiting for a customer service representative to pick up on the other end and help you out. FastCustomer is a pain killer mobile app that takes out the hold from calling companies.
FastCustomer offers a free, 1-click process by which the company’s customer service rep calls you, not the other way around (the app has over 1600 companies in its database). This way you are ridden of the costly and annoying hassle of waiting for an actual person to talk to you. In addition, the app automatically saves these calls on your mobile’s recent calls list for simple future use.
What I like about this free app, aside from its obvious anger elimination aspect, is that it helps the companies you’re trying to reach in the first place, as well. Happier customers are better and more loyal customers. It’s a win-win situation. Available for the iPhone and Android devices.
GoRankem – I’m always on the lookout for new music and artists, and thanks to an abundance of music discovery tools online virtually anyone can expand their music repertoire. GoRankem is yet another music discovery player offering honest artist recommendations based on the taste of artists’ fans. The active contribution of users is what propels GoRankem, and I much prefer the suggestions of true fans than being handed down the ‘check this out’ of doubtful taste makers (i.e. music sites’ founders).
To see GoRankem in action, and as my personal tribute to the recently deceased singer, here’s the artist page of Amy Winehouse who passed away last Saturday. I found some interesting similar artists thanks to GoRankem’s user rating system.
Pictarine – Storing and sharing photos these days is possible via Google’s Picasa, Facebook, Flickr and other photo hosting sites. The obvious question is how come there isn’t a single venue online that allows you to import all of your photos from various social networks and other locations to a single place? One that is easy to use, doesn’t require monthly payments to store your albums? Say hello to Pictarine, the site that invites you to “manage and share all your photos, whether they are on Flickr, Facebook, Picasa, Twitter, Instagram, your computer, your camera, and even your mobile. You can finally enjoy and share your photos the way you want in one place.”
In addition to storing and sharing photos, Pictarine offers a sociability feature whereby users can create ‘zests’ – a sort of a photo-based status update that friends can comment on and add their own photo to. Pictarine takes the chaotic world of dispersed online photo storage locations, and brings these all together to make it better and more organized.
Punchfork – Another look & click recipe site, Punchfork collects the Web’s best recipes in virtually any category you can think of, and showcases them elegantly on the homepage. Moreover, Punchfork uses social media channels to find out what’s hot in the cooking world right now, and shares that on their site. Punchfork’s visual approach is, as I’m sure you would agree, much more rewarding and helpful in recipe search online.
Search recipes by ingredients, or by user ratings, and Punchfork’s browsing filters can adjust your search to include blogs, trends, recently added recipes and more. To see what a chosen recipe page looks like, here’s one that is perfect for these hot summer days: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream by Serious Eats. Each recipe page allows you to go to the original site or blog’s recipe post.
Healthline Body Maps – There’s no way around it. When you see something with your own two eyes, you understand it better than by just reading about it. Healthline, the medical information provider, has partnered with GE Healthymagination to create a software of 3D anatomy maps of the human body so laypersons like you and me could better understand health by literally looking into ourselves.
When exploring a certain part or system of the human body, Healthline will offer interesting articles and tips relevant to that part of the body. So if, for example, I’m exploring the anatomy of women’s abdomen, Healthline recommends reads on digestive health, among other articles.
The 3D Body Maps constitute an appreciated added value to Healthline’s medical info center. Besides, I’ve always found the human body a most extraordinary machine. Healthline’s Body Maps adds a visual navigation tool to further enhance the human anatomy experience. Thanks, Healthline!

Wag’s huge product collection has everything you and your pet could possibly need, whether it’s toys, medications, bedding or furniture.
Wag.com offers free shipping for all orders above $49 (US territories), and even if you don’t reach that amount, the store offers fast delivery of up to two business days. I’ve already explored Wag and I want to buy its entire cat department. And if you are like me, you, too, will be impressed to find a commendable eco-friendly product section on Wag.com.
