It’s Here! AMF’s Happy Holidays Page

We spent countless hours researching the Web for the very best deals, products and online stores, and now we are pleased to present to you All My Faves’ Happy Holidays 2010 page! You will find here nothing short of the cream of the holiday season’s crop, fit for each and every one in you family and group of friends.

As opposed to last year, the Happy Holidays 2010 page comes in a redesigned page that includes new interesting categories such as gift ideas ‘for him’ and ‘for her,’ Kindle bestsellers and others. You will also find the hottest items people are now shopping for online in a myriad of categories (including hot deals, consoles and video games, gadgets, gift cards, toys, music, books, movies, TV series and loads more). It was especially important to us to ensure that whatever you shop for on the Happy Holidays page is top quality at the lowest price possible.

This Black November and Christmas can’t get any better than this! Visit our Happy Holidays page now, save time and enjoy the festivities both online and at home.

Especially Happy Holidays,

The All My Faves Team

Quotista – Sharing Power Quotes

Quotista – This quotes site is all about collecting and sharing quotes (Facebook and Twitter). All entries on Quotista are submitted by users who were impressed by a sentence, a phrase or an excerpt of a book they have read. The site is simply designed, but that does not mean it lacks elegance and efficency. Although Quotista is here to do one thing only, it does it beautifully.

Here are a few examples of the quotes I’ve found on the site’s Popular Quotes section. My favorite quote is the very first one here in the list:

eBay Group Gifts – The Pefect Fail-Proof Group Purchase

eBay Group Gifts – Imagine a close friend of yours moves into a new house and you really want to give him a housewarming gift that stands out, like a cool set of rock speakers for his new deck outside. The only thing is, these speakers can cost more than you can afford at the moment. One option would be to do a group purchase with some of your mutual buddies, where one person actually buys the gift online, and the others pay him back later. Well, eBay’s Group Gifts feature takes this basic purchase option and makes it better, super easy and fun.

Simply go to the Group Gifts main page, type in the name of the gift’s recipient and the occasion (you can also pick the friend’s name straight from your Facebook friends list). Next, search for a gift and pick one, just make sure it’s from the ‘Buy it Now’ section (see photo below), and select your contribution’s amount to the gift’s overall price. The following step includes providing an active PayPal account where you and all the other buddies pitching in can make your respective contribution. This cool feature includes setting a time limit, which totally eliminates the entire issue of reminding your friends to pay you back !

Once the payment portion is done, eBay will send the gift to the recipient and voila, he’ll have to figure out where exactly he’d like to position those rock-like speakers. For more information on eBay’s amazing new group purchase feature, see the video below. We loved the Group Gift option , especially for the holidays!

Team Coco – The Red Forelcok is Back, Bigtime!

Conan O’Brien Presents: Team Coco – When I first heard that Conan O’Brien had left NBC I was devastated. I always favored Conan over Jay Leno, and I was anxious to know what would happen next. Fortunately for me and many others, Conan only moved to another network (TBS, his show airs weeknights at 11/10c).

But the reason why the Team Coco website has made it to last week’s Weekly Faves is not due to Conan’s new show per se, but due to the amazing website that Conan and his team created to build up the hype for the show, to provide users with terrific content, and to show what the fans are saying on the Web.

Explore the high quality and humor-infused content on the Team Coco website in the form of hilarious interview videos between Conan and his show guests, photos, and the latest word from the fans. In addition, you can buy some merchandise branded with the cool Team Coco logo. Oh, and there’s also a blimp (yes!) and a new podcast. The Team Coco website is a powerful example of how well the social media and the Web can be used as a solid marketing tool. Plus, the show is great, which makes it all the more amazing.

See the video below of Conan’s show on TBS, interviewing Michael Cera on November 11, 2010.

Metacritic – Filtered Entertainment Recommendations

Metacritic – This Entertainment hub by CBS Interactive is here to help you find “stuff you’ll love” by offering you the top rated finds in games, music, movies and TV. Top rated means the entertainment items that scored the highest by Metacritic’s well, critics… You, the user, are invited to give your own score to each entry Metacritic offers you, and this helps other users to get a good idea about the quality and rank of any given item.

For my test run I searched for a prospect present I’m considering buying for my boyfirend: the new Call of Duty game (Black Ops) for PS3. Metacritic beautifully lays out before me all the information I could possible want to know about this game including its ratings by both critics (‘Metascore’ they call it) and users, and a link to the game’s official website. Here’s a screen shot of the page for Call of Duty: Black Ops:

My final words on Metacritic? Great entertainment recommendation site that truly offers filtered, high quality games, music, movies and TV shows suggestions.

DIY Life – Live. Renovate. Enjoy.

DIY Life – I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but AOL has recently emerged as a strong blog creator in practically every lifestyle field. DIY Life is no exception, and this blog constitutes an interesting and valuable resource for home improvement.

AOL’s DIY blog is neatly organized to allow you full access to its various sections: Kitchen & Bath, Know-How, Living Spaces, Outdoors, Crafts & Celebrations, and Experts (currently only featuring Eric Stromer).  Explore this cool blog and I’m sure you’ll be inspired to renovate at least one area in your home. This cool post on the unusual uses of Vodka in your home inspired me to start cleaning my jewelry…

ThinkGeek – The Nerdy Mall is Super Cool

ThinkGeek – We don’t normally feature an e-commerce site in the Weekly Faves lineup, but ThinkGeek is most certainly an exception. This website represents what every man secretly desires, but is too afraid to admit it. Aside from cool t-shirts like this one, ThinkGeek offers cool stuff for the home, the office, pets, kitchen, computer and electronics, and loads more. The two photos below are my absolute favorites.

Totally Looks Like – Similar Yet Hilariously Different

Totally Looks Like – When I was a kid there used to be a teen magazine with a section of looks-alike, showing photos of teenagers from around the country who had an external appearance very similar to that of known celebrities and stars. Totally Looks Like is another lol blog from Cheezbuger, focusing on the exact same premise. Each post displays two photos of people (mostly the rich and famous) who look similar to each other. The funny part is where a known star is coupled with a photo of a cat…

All look alike photos are submitted by users, and every now and then you’ll see a Totally Looks Like photo couple of a dog or another animal. It’s a nice twist. Either way, see the two photos below for a quick laugh.

Amazing Pics – A Tumblr with a Keen Eye for Drama

Amazing Pics – This tumblr page belongs to an anonymous user who has the ability to identify pictures that speak much louder than words. A former Weekly Blog, this one’s a winner and it got the most clicks out of the entire lineup that week.

Each picture is pouring with drama and interest such as the one below which appeared on Gizmodo:

The Incredibles are Landing in Your Facebook – Yikes!

The Incredibles are Landing in Your Facebook – See your Facebook account under a sweet attack of Mr. and Mrs. Incredible. Sign in with Facebook Connect and see the magic happen.

Here’s a screen shot of what my Facebook profile looked like after Mr. and Mrs. Incredible landed in my account. By the way, this cute campaign is a cool advertisement for Disneyland Paris

Super Mario Star Scramble 2 – Ghost Island – Mario Strikes Again

Super Mario Star Scramble 2 – Treat this game like the well-familiar Super Mario one; collect coins and stars, jump over and avoid the bad guys, and go back to the open door to proceed to the next level. Agile fingers and quick thinking are essential for success.
