Flavorwire is a blog covering all types of cultural news.
Flavorwire is the online editorial publication of Flavorpill Media. The site contains news and commentary on all types of pop culture, written in a smart and informative tone by a talented editorial staff. Articles are split into 13 categories, with topics like “Music” and “Television” covered alongside “Celebrity” and “Photography.” Many of the articles are news-based, but the reviews constitute some of the site’s best writing. Flavorwire claims that they feature the occasional cat photo, saying, “this is the Internet, after all.” Alas, that also means they feature their fair share of listicles and click-bait-y posts. Still, the amount of the quality articles outweighs the amount of bad ones (there aren’t many).
Flavorwire features many different categories, but it’s best section might be the “Television” one. The writers go in-depth about shows, offering witty and enlightening insight about episodes soon after they air. There aren’t many writers or sites that could make an article like “How ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Saved Itself in Season 7” entertaining. Flavorwire accomplishes things like that, and more. Those that enjoy Flavorwire’s content can also sign up for a daily e-mail newsletter of the site’s best pieces. It’s an easy way to stay on top of the trends across all elements of pop culture, with a little extra punch (and the occasional cat photo) as well.
