Spell Up is a voice-activated spelling game by Google where players can have fun while improving their English skills.
The object of the game is simple; build the tallest tower that you can. The actual building though, is a little more challenging. Spell Up brings speech recognition technology to the gaming world and in doing so, may just bring the gaming world into the classroom. Teachers can let their students play this delightful game in class or maybe even assign it as some educational and enjoyable homework; it’s the best of both worlds. Three levels of difficulty are available so whether you are an English maven or just a guy trying to pick up the basics of the language, Google has insured that you can benefit from a round or two of play.
Spell Up asks you to complete three different types of challenges: unscramble words, fill in the blanks and guess the mystery word. Spelling and pronouncing a word correctly builds your tower higher and higher but misspelling a word brings it crashing down. Don’t worry though, you are not alone. Aside from building up your tower, spelling words correctly earns you coins which you can spend on different power-ups that can give you a hint or even spell a complete word for you (although that power-up costs a lot of coins.) Spell Up is a great and fun way to improve your vocabulary so go give it a try and watch your English skills grow to towering new heights.
