Currently in it’s 4th season, HBO’s Game of Thrones has a cult following, and it’s website, Take The Throne, is giving users an interactive platform to talk about it.
When visiting Take The Throne, users are shown a throne made up of a silvery material (if you zoom in close enough, you can see that they are letters). Each time you click on the throne you are shown another user’s social media post about the show. You can search for specific posts by searching users or Twitter handles, or narrow the posts down by whether you want to see Twitter, Facebook or image posts. In order to post, users can click on the Facebook and Twitter icons on the top right of the website, or they can tweet #takethethrone from their own account page.
The great thing about Take The Throne is the ease of which people interested in the show can find posts about it. Rather than logging onto several different social media accounts, viewers can visit the website and see what people are saying about it. To perfect the experience, the HBO team added the show’s infamous theme, so you can hum it while reading what other people are thinking about your favorite TV show.
