YouTube Disco – When I first came across YouTube Disco, I was so thrilled, thinking that the online video giant had finally released a video mixing feature. But I was wrong. Big time. Turns out the YouTube Disco is simply a nice and organized way of listening to and viewing artists’ music and videos on one page. I guess the ‘mix’ or ‘disco’ aspect of this YouTube feature is manifested in the fact that you can add songs of similar (suggested) artists to the existing playlist. In addition, each artist page includes an attractive background design and a bio paragraph.
There’s no doubt YouTube is trying to push for a cool way of consuming music of our favorite performers, but I feel they should have called it something else, something more accurate and less pretentious. Despite its attractive package, YouTube Disco comes second to the standard playlist feature in my book. Nice try guys, but you’re going to have to try harder.
