These pages could be for medical expenses, cancer research, funerals, disasters, team fundraisers, veterans, and many more. It is very simple to start the fundraiser and spread the word via social media. With crowdfunding, anyone can use the power of social media to get the word out for a fundraiser and get people to donate. “Compassionate crowdfunding is free online fundraising pioneered by YouCaring to support humanitarian causes and bring kindness and community to those in need.” Compassionate crowdfunding is another way to create awareness using YouCaring. There are too many unfortunate cases of people fighting cancer or tragedy where fundraising needs to take affect. YouCaring created an easy way for these people to start their fundraising.
YouCaring has gotten a lot of public media since it’s launch because of the great need in fundraising. NBC News released a story about a grandfather who lost his son to a heat stroke and his granddaughter fighting a brain tumor. He took matters into his own hands to help honor the memory of his son while helping his granddaughter. The New York Times also published an article about YouCaring and how a man was able to help his nearly paralyzed brother continue to pay for therapy by creating a crowdfunding campaign. It’s these little things that become a huge deal in our society. People are always fundraising whether it’s for a high school football team or starting a nonprofit. YouCaring provides an easy way to start these fundraisers.
