US Open 2008 – On the last two weekly faves, we featured NBC Olympics and Beijing 2008 Official Site. Both sites received a substantial amount of hits if comparing to the other sites that were featured on that week. I was so pleased with the number of hits, I decided that if ‘the people’ want sports, we shall give them a sport fave on a weekly basis. Apparently I was wrong and The US Open 2008 isn’t such a big hit. I still think it is quite interesting but I am not You. So enough bla bla about site picking. Are you enjoying the US open? Do you think Federer and Nadal will reach the final again? Will Federer beat Nadal and revenge his last Wimbledon (btw it was also featured as a weekly fave) lost that was played two months ago?

London 2012, OlympicsThe games of 2012 are awarded to the city of London! London has twice played host to the Olympics, in 1908 and 1948. It becomes the first city to host the Olympics three times. London had big rivals such as New York, Moscow, Madrid and Paris. The latter gave a big fight but at the end London is the 2012 Olympic host. The slogan behind the Beijing 2008 Olympics talked about globalization – ‘One World One Dream’. The London games vision is all about changing the world through sports – ‘The Power of The Games to Inspire Change’. We can just hope that the 2012 Olympics will be as good as the Beijing one.

Google 2008 US Election – The United States presidential election of 2008, scheduled for Tuesday November 4, 2008 will be the 56th consecutive quadrennial United States presidential election and will select the President and Vice President of the United States. The Republican Party has not officially chosen its nominee, but its presumptive nominee is John McCain, the senior United States Senator from Arizona; Barack Obama, the junior United States Senator from Illinois, has been chosen as the nominee for the Democratic Party. The 2008 election is particularly notable because it is the first time in U.S. history that two sitting senators will run against each other for president, and because it is the first time an African American is a presidential nominee for a major party, as well as the first time both major candidates were born outside the continental United States (Hawaii for Obama and the Canal Zone in Panama for McCain). Use Google to follow the 2008 elections. Google has aggregated all your 2008 election curiosities from news to videos and on to blog posts, and pictures. Not into Google? Check 2008 election coverage by Yahoo, Digg or CNN.

Family – What is the most important and rewarding job? CEO of Microsoft or raising a family? Many would claim that the CEO job is much more important, however, if you will take a minute and debate this question (with yourself), I am quite sure you will conclude that raising a family is ranked higher. Disney Family tries to ease and simplify the parenthood tasks by providing instant answers, expert content and easy access to other parents who know exactly what raising a family is all about. Can you imagine a better environment than Disney, after all, almost all of us grew on the Disney movies, so they must be doing something right.

Real Simple – I’ve found that most people really need to uncomplicate their lives in a major way. Simplifying things generally makes them work better and therefore lessens their stress levels. What people don’t understand is that it isn’t simple being simple, it is something you can achieve, however, it requires determination and discipline. A good place to start is by following the Real Simple daily thoughts. Keep It Simple Stupid!

EarthCam – Would you like to see the world, but can’t afford to travel? This is probably the closest you’ll ever get. EarthCam offers links to web cams all over the world. The web cams are featured by time zone, category or just type in a city. Many of the links are broken however the ones that do work offers a good way of consisting your curiosity, don’t we all like to peep once in a while. My fave web cams include: Times Square Puerto Escondido (Mexico).

Engrish Funny English is the most commonly used language in the world. It’s used everywhere, be it for business or pleasure, by most people. While it is used regularly, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it is used correctly. EngrishFunny makes fun of grammatically incorrect variations of English (often found in Asia). Users send in photos of poorly translated or written products, signs, instructions, etc. If applicable of lousy English, they will be featured. My Faves: No GirlHunt and Welcom Turist We Spik Inglish.

Yearbook Yourself – Ever wonder what you’d look like in the past? Upload your photo and see yourself with classic hairdos and outfits through the decades. A great time waster, make sure you use the controls in order to adjust each picture.

Burning Man – I have never attended the Burning Man but I intend of doing so next year (I was supposed to be there this year, however, I was tied up with AllMyFaves). I’ve heard it is amazing and inspiring. The official site is kinda dull, especially after reading that “Trying to explain what Burning Man is to someone who has never been to the event is a bit like trying to explain what a particular color looks like to someone who is blind“. After reading this quote I expected for an unexpected site. Yo Burning Man Guys – You claim you are interesting, so spice it up. I hope this review won’t ban me from attending next year’s event. In the mean time enjoy the great images displayed on our Burning Man fave.

Shadez – Start War! Use your expert knowledge of troop deployment, hardware and air strikes. Take on an international determined unconventional enemy army and remove them from existence. This is a test of your skills and if successful the governments will rehire you for other missions and other wars. Sounds intimidating…
