The Bread Art Project – Creating art for the benefit of charity organizations isn’t a new trend, but this particular project by the Grain Foods Foundation gives it a whole new meaning. The Bread Art project is magnificently simple: creating unique works of art on virtual pieces of bread, selling them in galleries and channeling the produced profits to programs that aim to end childhood hunger in America.
According to the Info section on the website, the Grain Foods Foundation “will donate $50,000 to Share Our Strength [charity organization] and will make an additional $1 donation for every piece of Bread Art submitted and approved, up to a maximum donation of $100,000, now through June 30, 2010.” Visit the project’s galleries to marvel the Bread Art users all over have already created, and be inspired to make your own.
