Karaokeparty – I will let you in on a small secret of mine: I attended at least seven Karaoke parties in my life, but I must shamefully admit that I never had the courage to step on the stage and sing. Don’t get me wrong – I wanted to sing but was and still am too shy to go through with it. Perhaps one day I will find the courage to do it, but until that day comes I can karaoke as much as I want in the privacy of my own home (and computer), using Karaokeparty.
Karaokeparty is an intuitive music service that lets users sing karaoke, practice singing and challenge friends. All you need is a microphone and a computer connected to the Internet. The best part about this site is that it ranks how good you are, and you can compare your scores to those of others. I decided to dive into the singing experience with Katy Perry’s Hot and Cold, Barry Manilow’s Copacabana, The Eagles Hotel California and Queen’s We Are The Champions. Just how good was he, you might ask yourself? To be totally honest, I wasn’t very good…. You can see my scores here.
I would love to hear what was your song of choice – drop me a line and let me know what you sang to and how high you scored. The only downside to this service is the lack of some recording feature that documents users’ performances. I am sure it could have been quite enjoyable and a nice feature to share around. For the music lovers among you, I have embedded below the original music of my karaoke songs. Sing baby, sing!
