Hshtags is the social media search engine that aggregates hashtags and trending topics from around the web and around the world.
Hashtags have so completely taken over the Internet that no one remembers what a pound sign or an “octothorpe” is anymore. Enter Hshtags.com, the online social media search engine completely dedicated to the symbol. Because Twitter is no longer the only online platform using the hashtag (or because sites like Facebook took the popular feature and appropriated it for their own use), it can become difficult to find consistency in hashtag-based stories and conversations. Hshtag aggregates public posts from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Vimeo, Flickr and Tumblr so that users can view all of the social media conversations surrounding a certain hashtag. The site works like any other search engine: users type a keyword or phrase into the search bar and wait for results to appear.
The results are displayed in a manner unique to Hshtags.com so that the username, content, additional hashtags and platform on which the post was initially found is clearly noted. It’s easy to scroll through endless amounts of results, or to type in a new search. Hshtag also has several features beyond the typical search engine such as Google or Bing. Users can save their favorite hashtags to personalized lists so that they can discover constant updates in the trends whenever it is convenient for them. For instance, you could make a list of your favorite sports teams (a Chicago fan’s list might look something like #bears #cubs #bulls #blackhawks) to more easily click on the hashtags and discover updates about the teams. These lists can be used for any hashtags a user wants. Hshtag provides an interesting service and it’s both fun and informative to read what others around the world have to say about various trending topics.
