Villy is a hotel booking site that gives users advice on the best neighborhoods and things to do during your stay in cities around the world.
Villy currently offers booking services in a select few cities: Paris, Barcelona, Bangkok, Berlin, London, Miami, New York, Rome, San Francisco, and Seoul. Amsterdam and Tokyo are expected to be added soon. Because the site focuses on a smaller amount of cities rather than searching for hotels anywhere, it gives more detailed information about those locations. The site employs “city experts,” adding a personal touch that’s missing on most search-based travel booking sites. Experts provide information about things to do in each city, from restaurants to tourist destinations.
Villy helps users discover the best neighborhood in which to stay by asking what types of activities they want to do while on vacation. While conducting a search, users can indicate whether they like museums more than bars and pubs, or restaurants over sightseeing. There’s also the option to explain whether you’re traveling solo, with friends, as a couple or with your family. After setting all of these filters as well as your price range, Villy returns a list of hotels that might work best for your travel preferences. The site recommends a list of neighborhoods, ranked in order according to your filters. There’s also a map, making it easier to discover hotels based on location. Villy’s interface is more interactive and its recommendations are more personalized than other travel booking sites, so it’s worth using if you’re traveling to one of the cities it offers.
