Gamping allows travelers to book a plot of land to camp at someone’s home, or to host a plot of land and earn money by renting to other campers.
You’ve probably heard of the term glamping, which is used to describe the luxury camping that takes place around the globe. The next great trend to affect the camping world is Gamping, or garden camping. Gamping.com is essentially an Air Bnb for campers, allowing users to search for a plot of land to camp on and allowing hosts to rent their own plots of land. The site’s homepage touts camping sites by the seaside, by swimming pools, in motorhomes, on mountains and islands or in “beautiful residences.” There’s something for everyone on gamping, from the snobbiest glamper to the grittiest camper.
Because gamping opens up private plots of land to campers, prices can potentially be cheaper than certain destinations. The site also creates a sense of community, similar to the way many Air Bnb hosts chat or otherwise connect with their guests. For hosts, it’s also less of a commitment to allow people to camp on a lawn or other outdoor area, providing an easier way to make money than comparable sites. Potential gampers can get started by entering any location into the search tool on the site’s homepage. There are already sites available in unique locations around the globe. It’s an exciting time to participate in the sharing economy, and gamping offers a fantastic opportunity to do so.
