Rep The Squad lets you “loan” official sports jerseys.
The idea behind Rep The Squad sounds absurd at first, but makes sense the more you think about it. The company borrows its concept from Rent The Runway, the site which “loans” out designer dresses for a certain period of time. Rather than loaning out dresses, though, Rep The Squad loans out jerseys. Even though most people think of jerseys as collector’s items, owned by the most fervent fans, it actually does make sense to wear jerseys on a more limited basis. Official jerseys are expensive, and the sports world is volatile. You might buy a jersey just to have your favorite player traded to a different team. While throwbacks are nice, it’s also good to be up-to-date without breaking the bank.
Rep The Squad subscriptions start at around $20/month, or $17/month for youth memberships. The site lets you rank your favorite jerseys in the order you want them shipped. Once you’re done with a jersey, you simply return it and wait for your next option to arrive in just a few days. You don’t even have to worry about washing your jersey (although Rep The Squad does, hopefully, wash the jerseys before sending them back out). Shipping is free both ways. If you’re a jersey aficionado who can’t afford to buy the newest jerseys for every season or sports news update, Rep The Squad could be worth a subscription.
