The Night Light offers a hand-picked guide of the best products for parents of newborn babies.
The Night Light offers a curated list of the best products parents should have for their newborn babies. Products range from strollers and bottles to breast pumps and car seats. As the site’s name suggests, there are also a good amount of night lights available. The editorial staff at Night Light scours the web for the best baby products available. They then host external links to the products, which are hosted by various retailers around the web. Many of the items on the Night Light are hosted by Amazon, although the site doesn’t work exclusively with any particular online store (although it does make its money by receiving small kickbacks from retailers). The site differentiates itself from large-scale retailers like Amazon not only by not directly selling products, but also by only displaying a few items at a time on the homepage.
Although The Night Light only displays a few products on its homepage, it offers a huge list of highly-descriptive information about each item. A top featured item at one point, for instance, was “The Best Bottle Drying Rack,” a $25 countertop drying rack from Boon Lawn. The Night Light has written tons of information about the product, including “who should buy this,” “what makes a good baby bottle drying rack,” and how the product was tested compared to its competitors or similar products. The information on the site is written in a personal, relatable tone by people who have been through the parenting process on their own. The site is owned and operated by a brother and sister team of writers — Joel Johnson and Rachel Fracassa (who works as a doula and has four children of her own). There’s also a team of contributors that give the site its unique editorial voice and make it a great recommendation service for all parents of newborns who need a little help picking the best items that can ultimately improve their lives a little bit.
