It seems too good to be true. Everything on Brandless site costs $3. Everything. And they have some cool stuff. It’s the best digital version of a budget store that’s ever launched on the web, and the products have the health-conscious branding of an overpriced Whole Foods. Brandless isn’t the only online budget store. Other companies, like Hollar, have tried to replicate the budget store experience in the digital space. The problem with those sites, and specifically Hollar, is that they sell a lot of junk. The prices vary more than initially advertised, and there’s no real reason to shop there unless you’re looking for something specific.
Brandless reinvents the concept, focusing on a few items and always charging the exact same price. Seriously, everything costs $3. The company sells food, household supplies, beauty, health and personal care products, as well as home office supplies. The site also lets you “shop by values,” catering to people who only eat organic, gluten free, non GMO, vegan, sugar-free, or certified kosher. Brandless sells high quality coffee, granola, coconut oil, and many more products that you’d expect to see in a high end health food grocery store. But they’re all $3. It seems unbelievable, but the company also recently received a significant funding round of $50 million. That should keep the business going for a while, so take advantage of the deals now.
