Invisible People – Society, Open Your Eyes!

InvisiblePeople.tv – Homeless people have practically become invisible by you, me and everyone else, as everyone walking down the street intentionally avoid eye contact with ‘those people.’ We simply continue on, minding our own business, thinking homelessness is someone else’s problem. Well, it’s not. That’s why InvisiblePeople.tv is here, to throw it right at your face. That’s our society’s reality, folks. We might as well come to terms with it and see these people for what they are: they’re the same as you and me, trying to make a better life for themselves.

This most compelling vblog by a former homeless person is touching, difficult at times yet extremely poignant. Made up of videos of actual homeless people across America, InvisiblePeople.tv aims to make us open our eyes and acknowledge all those men, women and children who are striving for life’s basic needs on a daily basis. This vblog truly makes the invisible visible again, pointing out the need for our admission, recognition and realization. That’s it.

To start exploring InvisiblePeople, I suggest you first read the About page, then start exploring the videos. Mind you, some are hard to watch. Below are the stories of Dennis from New Orleans, and of Candace and her children in Missouri.

  • we,my wife, and 14 yr old son are homeless in dayton nv.
just wanted to say most people see us and think if i give them money it will go to drugs,or smokes.they dont know how to use money,if they did they wouldnt be homeless.
well we are not beer chugging, pot smoking, drug dealing, too lazy to work homeless people.
we were your neighbors that lost our homes, our jobs, and our friends.it funny how you were able to hang out with us when we had money, now that we have nothing, you treat us like trash.if being homeless has done anything for us,it has taught us that you never really liked or cared for us.it was our money you liked.it is funny how when your homeless the people that help u the most are homeless themselves,or were homeless at one time.when we are back on our feet again we will remember our true friends.(the poor and homeless).im just sorry it took me becomming homeless to see this.we are so greatful to have people like mark (hardlynormal), shay(project5050),and all the others that helping to open peoples eyes to this increasing problem called homeless.what a shame that in the 21st century we would even be dealing with this
