Elite Daily is an online news outlet that provides a refreshing take on media for an audience of digital natives.
Elite Daily is an online news publication that breaks the stereotypes perpetuated for years by traditional media outlets. Rather than reporting the news in the dry, standardized manner that can be found in so many newspapers and online publications, Elite Daily uses a conversational approach to its writing — favoring YouTube videos, images, links and other 21st century media tools. It’d be surprising if you haven’t already come across a link to an Elite Daily article on Facebook, Twitter or your social media network of choice, as the site specializes in making sharable content with catchy headlines.
Unlike other sites that constantly pop up on Facebook feeds, however, Elite Daily doesn’t sacrifice the quality of its articles just to make them click-bait material. The site breaks its content into 11 categories: News, Life, Money, Sports, Dating, Entertainment, Music, Women, Envision, Humor and Videos. Many of these categories and the numerous subcategories cross-over in terms of material. The focus is on creating viral content, but articles with titles like “Former Morgue Employee Admits to Having Sex With Up To 100 Dead Women” and “I was In Ferguson For 48 Hours, Got Tear-Gassed And Witnessed A Community Come Together” are intriguing reads to say the least. By creating content for members of their own generation (and those progressive-minded individuals from older generations!), Elite Daily has succeeded at being a worthwhile news destination for the digital age.
