Lifetramp is an online community that allows people to try different careers and lifestyles by training with and learning from a mentor for a day.
Lifetramp lets users find a mentor that is an expert at a hobby or in their professional field. Users can spend the day with their mentor and learn from them for free — all Lifetramp asks is users buy lunch for their mentors in return. Users can find a mentor in their home city or schedule to meet with one while on vacation in a different location. Finding a mentor using the site’s search engine is easy — you can simply type in a profession or hobby and see what the site returns. You can also browse by category — Creative Arts, Business, Tech or Crafts — or by location. There are mentors located in cities around the world, with exciting careers like Game Designer, Netnographer, Shepherd, and many more.
Each Lifetramp mentor has a profile that explains his or her profession, hobbies, and experience in the field in which you’re interested. You can book a visit with a particular mentor directly from the profile page — and you can also publicly follow mentors or receive private messages about your trip in advance. Booking a mentor is obviously dependent on the mentor’s schedule, but there are enough options that you should be able to find someone to teach you something cool during the time that you want. Lifetramp has created an interesting community in which people can exchange ideas, job advice, and share the day together. If you’re curious about different professions or just want to meet new people that are doing cool things, it’s easy and free to book a day with a mentor.
