BuildZoom helps you figure out who the best (and worst) general contractors are using building permit history, customer reviews and other tools.
BuildZoom is designed to help people find the best contractor in their local area. It offers profiles for every licensed contractor in the United States, including plumbers, electricians, roofers and architects. If you have a home remodeling project that needs to be completed, BuildZoom can be used for extensive research into the available contractors. In some ways, BuildZoom is like Yelp for contractors. You search for what you want, and the site returns a list of information and homeowner reviews. But BuildZoom goes beyond just customer reviews, using building permits, project photographs, government license information and other data to help people make an informed choice as to who to hire.
Each contractor has an extensive profile on BuildZoom, highlighting the services the company offers as well as background information about the individual contractor(s). Information about when the individual received his or her license is also clearly displayed, as well as other key business information. Each profile also includes a map displaying all of the building permits filed by the company or contractor. This offers an easy way to gain insight into the contractor’s previous work, providing a sense of transparency it’s difficult to find elsewhere on the web. In addition to contractor profiles, BuildZoom also offers charts, photos and a question-and-answer advice section. For anyone considering any sort of home remodeling, the BuildZoom community is a great place to get started.
