Honest Slogans is a tumblr-hosted blog featuring graphics with slogans that are (obviously) meant for entertainment purposes only.
Honest Slogans is a humorous website that features graphics of well-known companies with the slogans that truly describe what the product is all about. A recent picture posted to the site features the Budweiser logo and the description “Kind of Beer” rather than “King of Beers.” The site was created using a simple Tumblr template, but the graphics uploaded to the site are well-designed (if you’re not really reading the words, they just like real, professional ads). The humor is subtle but good, and usually accurate.
Honest Slogans was created by Clif Dickens, a talented graphic designer who has done work for a variety of brands, bands, and other things around the web. He started Honest Slogans as a side project in 2011 as a way to have fun while still demonstrating his graphic design skills and abilities. There are quite a few gems hosted on the blog, such as an ad for The Onion with the slogan “Real News for Dumb People.” or one for Netflix that reads “Spend More Time Searching Than Actually Watching.” The blog is updated fairly regularly, but the entire back catalog of graphics can also be scrolled through. The site also has a Facebook and Twitter, which you can follow to see Dickens’ latest creations.
