Not very handy around the house? Handybook knows someone that is. The site works with professional cleaners, handymen and plumbers and makes the process of hiring those servicemen much easier. On the site’s homepage, you simply need to to enter your zipcode and the type of service that you desire. You choose the time and date when you need to get whatever it is you need to get done, and Handybook provides you with a quote and the qualified personnel. The payment is done with credit card through site, and it includes tax and tip.
Handybook doesn’t just offer generalized services. Almost anything handy that you need done around the house (or office!) could be done by one of Handybook’s professionals. Whether it’s painters, movers, heavy lifters, or even if you don’t feel like deciphering the confusing pictures required to assemble IKEA furniture, Handybook has professionals that’ll do that for you.
Handybook emphasizes its safety. Each Handybook service-person has gone through extensive background checks and has been interviewed in person. Their identities – including addresses, social security numbers, emails and phone numbers – have been verified, and they’ve been ran through the Department of Justice’s Smart Search process. They’ve also been verified by, well, Been Verified, a third-party background checking program. Handybook’s services are currently available only in Boston, New York City and San Francisco, but it’s expanding quickly, so make sure you check it out the next time you need a handyman.
