Forekast: A Global Event Calendar

Forekast is an event board that makes it easy to see the best things happening on any given day.

Events for a Global Community of Users

Forekast is an event calendar that’s not limited by a specific location. Rather than focusing on things happening on a particular city, Forekast highlights the best global events. The site describes “global events” as things people can watch, listen to or take part in no matter where they live. These include major television appearances such as the final episode of The Colbert Report, sporting events, or things like “International Don’t Make Your Bed Day.” Each of these items is uploaded to the site and posted on a timeline in a clear manner. There’s additional information and a comment section on each link.

Upvote the Best Events on a Particular Day

Forekast works similarly to Reddit in that events are upvoted by the community of users. The Forekast homepage is organized by day, beginning with today, and features the top 5 events as determined by the voters. It’s also easy to expand a particular day and view the less popular events. There’s also the option to set up “Subkasts,” which are essentially subreddits for events. These can be organized around particular topics — TV, culture, music, movies, etc. Forekast also include a National Event section, which corresponds to the country you select when setting up an account. These events are typically of interest to one particular country, although all of the events on Forekast can technically be experienced by anyone, anywhere. The site offers a convenient way to keep track of the many awesome things happening both online and offline on a daily basis.
