Wakie: Your Alarm Clock Reinvented

Wakie is a community of people waking people.

Wake Up and Talk to Someone

Wakie is an alarm clock app that’s currently available on Google Play, the Windows Store and the iOS App Store. In many ways, it’s like any other alarm clock app. You set the time that you want to wake up, and the app does its job at that time. In one simple way, it’s completely unlike any other app — rather than playing music or a pre-recorded tone, the app plays a phone call with another random user. If you have your alarm set for a certain time, another member of the Wakie community will call at that exact time. The app then connects the two of you for a morning chat.

A safe and Anonymous, 60-second Morning Conversation

Wakie has a few built-in features that make it fun and entertaining rather than creepy or awkward. Each call lasts for exactly one minute, with one warning sound delivered when there are 10 seconds remaining. After the minute is up, the call is automatically disconnected. Phone numbers aren’t actually exchanged, so if you don’t enjoy the person you’re connected with you never have to hear from them again. It’s a positive community of users that want to share a short, hassle-free conversation with someone new. It’s also an easier way to wake up through conversation with someone that actually responds to you, rather than an alarm clock with an easily reachable snooze button.
