The website has a simple booking process, allowing those that need moving help to select from a drop-down menu of cities where Bellhops services are offered. Movers can be found in most college towns — such as Chapel Hill, N.C., Tuscaloosa, AL, Champaign, IL, etc. — as well as in larger cities that also have college campuses (and sometimes multiple ones) such as Los Angeles and Seattle. After selecting a city, Bellhops presents a choice between a local move from point A to point B, loading help or unloading help.
Bellhops also allows you to customize the number of movers you’ll need, the amount of time you estimate the move will take, and the time and date that you want the move to take place. The site then calculates an estimate for the services, which varies from city to city and according to the choices you selected. On the opposite end, Bellhops are allowed to choose their own jobs and help customers move according to their own schedule. The site is smart for employing college students, who typically have a more flexible schedule and a desire to earn some extra income. The Bellhops provide services to other college students, but also help anyone within their particular city that needs help moving. The price is $40/hour per student worker, with a 1.5 hour minimum. That’s relatively affordable for such a convenient service.
