One Cool Thing a Day – One Cool Thing a Day – The name says it all. Every day at midnight a new cool item is added to the site. These can range from an interesting video to an amazing photograph. Check back daily for your cool fix of the day.

Uproxx – Your first visit to Uproxx might be confusing. It took me a while to get the gist of this entertainment site. Essentially, Uproxx is the venue of cultural and entertainment news, or, as the site explains, “from exclusive entertainment news to original sports satire, UPROXX covers the biggest names and events in pop culture with humor and insight.”

Uproxx works in collaboration with other media venues such as Gamesqaud to cover news on gaming and technology, and Filmdrunk, to cover film news, among others. This website might come across as too fresh to some, but entertainment -real entertainment- has to get down and dirty sometimes, right? Here’s an interesting news update I found on Uproxx, A-List Time Travel: Celebrities Re-Imagines in Different Eras.

Trip Your Face – This brilliant interactive campaign by Hotels.com invites users to experience the “what happens in [city] stays in [city]” for themselves in a whimsical and well-made adventure.

Animals Being Dicks – It turns out animals can be heartless bastards, too. This funny blog is dedicated to all those documented instances of animals being hilariously cruel to each other (don’t worry, there’s nothing fatal or bloody inside).

To give an example, here’s one cute and funny example called Wanna Go for a Dip? I’ve already seen it happen numerous times among young children at the pool:

This example was the lightest of the bunch, and you’ll come across some ‘no-it-didn’t!’ entries in Animals Being Dicks. Enjoy.

Mad: The Idiotical – This spanking new blog by Mad Magazine (DC Comics) isn’t playing the usual marketing game as blogs of other major companies do. The Idiotical is here to make you laugh using dark humor, powerful statements and lots of funny illustrations. If you’re a Mad Magazine fan, RSS to this one. VideoBash – This is a video site claiming to be “a comedic video website…that combines the brilliant idea of user-generated content along with original, licensed and exclusive content.”

Each featured video on VideoBash has, just like any leading video site, user ratings and displays the number of views thus far. And since this site claims to have the funniest videos online today, I thought I’d put this promise to the test. Here’s a good one I found under ‘Recent Videos.’

Cute Roulette – Another player in the “oh, that’s so cute!” category websites, Cute Roulette is a random cute video player where each video shows a baby animal of a different kind of animals doing super cute things (although kittens and puppies appear in many of the videos, there is a large collection of other animals as well ). This is a nice relief or coffee break spot if you have a busy day and need to relax a bit, or a nice resource to go to if you are thinking of adopting a pet… Here are a couple of super cute videos I found here on Cute Roulette. GraphJam – One of the Cheezburger network blogs, GraphJam is not new, but its hilarious posts most certainly deserve a Weekly Fave spot (it’s a Weekly Blog winner as well). White Whine – Sometimes bitching about our dire situation makes us feel better. White Whine does so by surveying the Web and picking out the best sarcastic aphorisms. You’ll find lots of interesting, mostly funny entries here, ranging from the hilarious to the absurd.
