Nogeno – The team behind Nogeno has a calling. They want this website to serve as a home for the musicians who “need something personal – a page to call their own which will bring out their music, videos, upcoming gigs and much more.” Although there are many prominent sites for novel musicians (such as Bandcamp, MySpace and others), Nogeno’s added value comes in the form of lack of commercialization, or so its team claims.
To discover new artists that will suit your taste, you are invited to type in your favorite artist or band’s name in the homepage and the Nogeno system will automatically build a playlist made up of new emerging artists within the ballpark of your preferred genres. Musicians are also invited to create their own music space using Nogeno’s platform to increase their exposure.
Here’s the mixtape playlist Nogeno created for me, based on my submission of Arcade Fire and Modest Mouse, two bands I love to listen to. As you can see, the left part of the screen is the actual playlist, while the right part of that page is devoted to bio and background info regarding the artist/band playing.
TwistedSifter – Here’s a sweet website that will satisfy your crave for interesting and creative things online. TwistedSifter finds all the most popular stories, photos and posts currently on the Web, and the site’s use of large photos whenever possible makes it visually appealing as well.
TwistedSifter offers a variety of categories for you to explore. These include Picture of the Day, The Shirk Report (the funny side of the Web), Current Events, Galleries and more. In short, TwistedSifter truly offers a hot spot for interesting and creative content the Web has to offer. Click the image below to go to my favorite post.

Back of a Webpage – 100% fun, this simple yet unique website showcases what websites look like reversed – from the back, based on people’s imagination. What does that mean, exactly? See some pics below and you’ll get it.
Here’s the back view of Flickr – see the image, just like an actual photo from a developed film.
And here’s a creative submission, showing the back side of YouTube.
QVIVO – Hoping to revolutionize the way we consume and share media content, QVIVO offers an impressive bundle of user actions and experiences, all focused on your favorite music, videos, films, and social network friends. Once installed, QVIVO will automatically create a mega library with cover art, trailers, actors, artists and more from the files on your computer. QVIVO has taken care of the format issue to allow you to play all files, regardless of where you purchased or imported them from.
All the great perks I’ve mentioned above are nice and dandy, but where QVIVO really shines is in the social sphere. When your friends are also connected and using this app, you can see what they’re watching at that very instant, see if they like it, post your own status, comment on and interact with them.
Cute Roulette – Another player in the “oh, that’s so cute!” category websites, Cute Roulette is a random cute video player where each video shows a baby animal of a different kind of animals doing super cute things (although kittens and puppies appear in many of the videos, there is a large collection of other animals as well ). This is a nice relief or coffee break spot if you have a busy day and need to relax a bit, or a nice resource to go to if you are thinking of adopting a pet… Here are a couple of super cute videos I found here on Cute Roulette. Enjoy.
Crazy Things Parents Text – Being embarrassed by our parents is an inevitable shame we all must come to terms with, and what a better way to deal with it than by making fun of their texting creativity? Crazy Things Parents Text is here to make fun of moms and dads’ self expression in the digital era, particularly when texting. The result is a hilarious blog of funny and surprising things parents text, and you can vote for your fave ones. Here are a couple of the most popular posts:
Chuckville – One of the leading meme threads online these past couple of years was the buzz around Chuck Norris’ capabilities and unbeatable power, presented as short aphoristic -and funny as hell- statements about legendary Chuck. T-Mobile, together with Symbio, took advantage of the online buzz surrounding Norris’ formidable fame (one example claims Chuck Norris’ tears can cure cancer, but he never cries) to create this fun and hilarious promotional site.
Chuckville includes all the factors that make a website a sweet success: the design is beautiful and creative, the background music is amazing and the interactivity of this site offers an enjoyable user experience. For the ultimate Chuck Norris adventure try to beat the Kong-Fu legend himself at Chuck-Lin. Search for it as you stroll around Chuckville.
InToNow – This cool iPhone app is all about fun friendly interactions centered around your favorite TV shows. Show your friends what show you’re currently watching using InToNow’s smart instant recognition system (it will even show your friends what episode your’re watching), and see what your friends have to say. As with most social apps, InToNow also offers sharing your real-time show viewing info with friends on Twitter and Facebook. InToNow is available on iTunes’ App Store. So what are you watching now? Here’s what the app looks like on the iPhone.
What Movie Should I Watch Tonight? – This unique movie recommendation site is so simple and effective I’m surprised no one has done it before. Simply go to the WMSIWT homepage, pick a movie genre on the left menu and the site will start showing you relevant movie trailers. That’s how I came to find the one shown below by picking ‘Dramatics.”
Once you’re done watching the trailer, you’ll have a film summary including the name of the movie, date of release, participating actors, and the name of the Director. WMSIWT uses full screen viewing by default, and you can add some preferences such as RSS, HD videos, exit full screen mode and other settings.
Here’s the brief info view of the movie trailer I saw (picture above), Blue Valentine.
GraphJam – One of the Cheezburger network blogs, GraphJam is not new, but its hilarious posts most certainly deserve a Weekly Fave spot (it’s a Weekly Blog winner as well). You will find yourself laughing at these pie and table stats (the source of which comes from users submitting graphs) and you’ll identify with most of these. Here a couple of examples:
To submit your own funny graph go to the Upload tab or click here.
Utopic.me – If you want to know what’s going on right now in terms of new movies, cool music, viral videos and events in your area, who to better consult than your friends? Utopic is a new innovative platform that allows you to discover the important and inspiring things your friends are into, right now. Simply connect via Facebook or Twitter, and see immediately what’s buzzing around your social circle. I logged in with Facebook connect, and here’s what’s hot in movies, according to my best pals (to see your own sign up first):
Using Utopic is super easy and fun, and each category page is loaded with photos plus brief description of each entry. Give it a try and see what’s in store, thanks to your friends!
Taste of Awesome – What happens when you take ordinary, boring photos and spice them up with witty commentary? Serious laughs. Taste of Awesome does just that and here below are a couple of photos to get you going. If you wish to submit your own go to the homepage and upload a photo, then add your annotation.
