Leave A Story lets you tell any story and receive a picture in return.
Leave A Story is an innovative web project started anonymously by someone who describes themselves only as “a graphic designer from Sweden.” The premise of the site is simple: leave a story, and the designer will draw you a picture in return. There’s a dedicated page on the site where you can enter the text of your story — it can be about anything (with the warning “what you give is what you get”) — your email, and your Instagram account. After submitting the story, the designer draws a picture using your words as inspiration. When completed, the images are uploaded to the Leave A Story homepage as well as its Instagram account.
The images are all different based on the story provided, but they all have a consistent design style. The designer has made a unique, recognizable style, favoring certain color schemes and tending to draw cartoonish animal characters. The images are all different based on the accompanying stories, which are written in multiple languages and range from lengthier narratives to shorter, more poetic writing. It’s interesting to what the designer comes up with based on the text provided. It’s also an interesting experiment simply for the fact that people are sharing different forms of art together online.
