Depict lets you discover, collect and own work by the world’s best digital artists.
Depict is a web and iOS app that allows you to build your own collection of digital art. The app was built in an attempt to reintroduce affordable art into people’s homes to be displayed in new, innovative ways. Depict encourages users to use devices like Chromecast, for instance, in order to display pieces on their television set. Art can be found on Depict in several different ways. The easiest way, of course, is browsing the curated list of pieces that the Depict team has chosen. There are popular and featured pieces, as well as the ability to feature by genre.
Each piece of art on Depict is also available for purchase. Although there are some impressive works from talented artists, none of the prices are as outrageously high as tangible art can be. Many pieces on Depict can be purchased for $15 or less. Owning a piece of digital art, however, can be just as rewarding as owning the real thing. There’s typically a limited supply of downloads for each piece, making the downloadable file more of a collector’s item like a real painting. Each piece also has a dedicated page with further information about the artist behind the work, strengthening the community of digital artists that the app supports. Depict has reimagined the way art can be owned and displayed in the digital age, and it’s worth supporting as they continue that mission.
