The site was founded by two sisters from Missouri, Elsie Larson and Emma Chapman. In addition to the daily content added by those two, there’s also a dedicated editorial staff that’s constantly updating A Beautiful Mess with new posts. Each of the articles on A Beautiful Mess is written in an easy-to-read but informative style, typically with information about the author’s personal life. This makes for an approachable, relatable site that still has great tips about all sorts of lifestyle topics. There’s also a heavy emphasis on images, with high-quality photos included in almost every post.
Larson and Chapman have expanded their business pursuits far beyond just the lifestyle blog. A Beautiful Mess also has an accompanying mobile app, although it differs from the website. 
It’s a photo app that links to Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, but it contains custom filters, fonts and other add-ons designed by Larson and Chapman. The two sisters also have published a couple of books, and they maintain an online store offering a variety of products. A Beautiful Mess also offers several online courses, with names from “DSLR Basics” to “Blog Life.” The courses are all taught by the two sisters, and are relatively affordable compared to other online education portals. Larson and Chapman have built an empire surrounding their own knowledge and skills, and anyone with similar interests should definitely visit the site.
