Giphy is an online web design experiment that lets you join and create a hilarious .gif dance party.
Giphy is one of those sites that makes you thankful that the strange world of the Internet exists. The basic premise of the site is that you can drag and drop a variety of pre-loaded .gifs of random animated characters (and real people) onto a dance floor, where they have a strange dance party that could only exist on the Internet. 
That’s all you can do on Giphy, yet for some reason I spent more minutes than I care to admit arranging dancing .gifs like the “Forever Alone” meme and Sponge Bob Square Pants on a dance floor so they could dance to “Bubble Butt.” When you first arrive at the site, Giphy automatically displays two .gifs — one of a teddy bear and one of a little girl — dancing to the Twist.
Share your Unique Dance FloorYou can select new dancers via a drop-down menu at the top of the site, and the choices are expansive. A guy in a Yeti costume and a cartoon apple are both options, among other humorous .gifs. You can resize, delete or rearrange these characters as you wish, although they continuously “dance” as the loop of the .gif plays. You can also select what music you’d like to be playing via another drop-down menu, although the choices are more limited than the list of dancers. In terms of options, you’ll find EDM tunes like Paul Oakenfield’s “Touched By You” alongside more humorous Internet-famous songs like “Trololo.” There are tons of options on the site, so it’s easy to create a one-of-a-kind, humorous dance floor. You can also easily save or share the dance floor by generating a unique URL. The project was created in a “Humor & Code” class at the Parsons School of Design & Technology, and it’s safe to say that the creator succeeded at designing a fun, funny website that’s entertaining to use and experience.
