Audiotool Sketch is an online music creation tool. It uses clever coding to emulate different classic audio devices, allowing users to easily create interesting music sequences. The digital devices available on the site mimic analog music sequencing devices, complete with knobs and buttons that light up depending on whether or not they are in use. 
Users can tinker with settings that control an electronic drum set, as well as bass and other synthesized instrument sounds to create a repeating loop of music. There are tons of knobs and buttons on the four available devices, and even slightly maneuvering each one leads to a drastically different output of sound. It’s truly possible to create unique and enjoyable sounds all from within your web browser.
Although the site is useful and fun to play around with, it actually doubles as an experiment in using Defrac, a coding tool that allows Audiotool Sketch’s Java code to be easily exported to iOS, Android and HTML5 using the exact same code. The company claims that its goal is to democratize the music production process, and in order to do so its tools must be easily playable across all popular platforms. After testing the product both on the web and iOS, it’s apparent that the company is succeeding in their efforts. While the sequencers offered by Audiotech allow for a large range of musical invention, the company’s coding techniques hint towards exciting possibilities for future music production creations.
