Remember the War: Experience the History of World War II Online

Posted on Monday, September 3rd, 2012 by

Launched for Remembrance Day, Remember the War brings the history of World War II to the web in a whole new way.

A beautiful multimedia memory of World War II

Remember the War is not just about Remembrance Day, its not about any specific day, its about a war, a world war that we just can not allow ourselves to forget. On the landing page you will find general Eisenhower’s quote while he was visiting a Nazi death camp back in 1945 saying “The world must know what happened, and never forget.” On Remember the War you will find a chronological record of the events that changed the world. On each important date and event you will find statistics concerning the event and an audio or a video that will make you more attached to the event.

Remember world war II – great for kids!

Remember the War is both informative and shocking, some of the videos are not easy to watch, but we must see everything so that we remember what human kind can do to each other. As a Jewish man whose family’s roots where cut almost completely by the Nazi war machine, I find the project Remember the War a most important tool for the next generation’s education.

It isn’t so easy to get through the whole project – you have to start from the beginning each time you take a look – but I would strongly recommend you watch all the videos and hear the audios, share it  and pass it on to others. If you’re going to show your kids one thing online this week, make it Remember the War.
